Beautiful Swiss Mountain Town Is Paying People $60,000 To Move There With One Little Catch

It can be difficult for small towns to maintain their populations when nearby cities offer a more action-packed life. Villages often struggle to compete with the multitude of activities a large metropolis can provide.
Albinen, a scenic mountain town in Switzerland, had this exact problem. It was losing so many of its natives to the nearby cities that its officials decided to come up with a plan to appeal to potential residents.
That’s when they came up with an idea—but when you find out what it was, you’ll be blown away!

Finding My Ancestors Village in Switzerland | Travel Vlog
Subscribe to my channel:
When I was about 5 I heard at a family gathering that my family through my maternal grandfather (the one I went to Israel with) emigrated to Denmark from Germany.
Maybe that was what sparked my first fascination with history. Later on we found out that the family could actually be traced all the way back to Switzerland which was.. in my eyes.. on of the most magical countries. So I was very pleased with that.
Ever since the genealogists found the area in Switzerland and the exact village I knew I had to go there one day. There are many places in Switzerland I really wanted to see on this trip, but I made this little corner of the country my priority.. I havn't regretted it one bit.
Here I start out In Schiers, a small town in the Graubünden canton. this is where my 9 times grandparents Christian Pitschi and Magdalena mayer were married, where they went to church, baptised their children and there they were eventually buried.
Christian and Magdalena Pitschi lived in a small mountain village not far from Schiers, called Montagna. It's a small gathering of only a few houses and barns all with stunning views.
I hope you enjoy this a bit more personal video from me. Se you next week:)

Switzerland: Mount TITLIS and Grindelwald glacier village travel
Switzerland: Mount Titlis & Grindelwald Glacier Village travel. There are indeed loads of destinations in Switzerland but I am virtually stuck in Grindelwald, the glacier village. The village is located in Switzerland’s Bernese Alps. The village is well connected by road and rail. With beautiful hiking trails the village is a perfect getaway for nature lovers.
Mount TITLIS has breathtaking views and is a great spot for skiing. 82 kms of slopes for ski and snowboarding. There are 19 lifts operating.

Zurich Switzerland Street Market
Zurich Switzerland Street Market
Zürich is home to one of Switzerland’s most vibrant market scenes, selling everything from vintage clothing to fresh fruits and vegetables and antiques. Here’s our guide to some of Zürich’s best markets, whether you’re an early bird looking to strike a bargain or just want to stroll around the aisles.
Here is the link to another video about Zurich.
There are many markets in Zurich - from fruit and vegetable markets with farmers selling their own fresh produce to flea markets with all sorts of stuff.
Fruit & Veg Market Rathausbrücke
Small market that takes place every Saturday morning. On offer: fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants, bread from the Swiss canton of Appenzell, specialities from the German region Bavaria and more.
Weekly markets have a long tradition both in the city and in the region around Zurich. Here you can find fresh vegetables, choice meat from regional farmers, and freshly baked bread straight from the oven.
Thanks to the top-quality products on sale, the markets are a source of inspiration and point of purchase for numerous Zurich gastronomes. The produce is bought by many professional chefs directly from the market and ends up as mouthwatering menus served at restaurants in the city and around Lake Zurich.
A visit to the farms in the region is also well worthwhile, for often they sell fresh produce in their own farm shops.
The weekly flower and vegetable market is held where tourism originated in Zurich – at the spot where Goethe and Mozart enjoyed the city as the gateway to the Alps. The Rathausbrücke was also the site of a market long ago – which is why the locals still call it the “Gemüsebrücke” (Vegetable Bridge).
Looking for a flea market? Zurich to Geneva, most towns and cities have a weekly produce market, great for picking up fruit and vegetables straight from the grower, freshly-baked bread and any number of local specialities from alpine cheese to meringues. But you'll also find beautiful flower stalls, trendy food markets where you can eat on site such as Zurich's Markthalle, and flea markets stuffed with antiques, bric-a-brac and vintage clothes. Whatever you're looking for, have a browse through our pick of Switzerland's best markets.
Good things come to those who get up early, so rise at 6 am on Tuesdays or Fridays and take a morning walk to Helvetiaplatz. Its market offers fresh fruit and veggies, cheese and local specialties - and of course the prettiest seasonal flowers in town. Old and young alike are seen strolling past the market stalls. Watch out for stalls selling seedlings for your urban garden in spring and summer.
Following is the list of most famous flea and street markets in Zurich.
1. Flea Market Bürkliplatz
2. Bahnhofmarkt
3. Helvetiaplatz-Markt
4. Kanzlei Flea Market
5. Rosenhof Market
6. Mercatino Rimini

Rigi Switzerland - Queen of the Mountains | 90+ Countries With 3 Kids
Join us at the top of Mt. Rigi in Switzerland! Get ready to see the most amazing views from the top of the world!!!
The Rigi Mountain, also known as Queen of the Mountains, offers jaw dropping panoramas of two cantons. This alpine elevation is located in Central Switzerland and it’s surrounded with three lakes – Lakes Lucerne, Zug and Lauerz. The peak, Rigi Kulm, is located at 1,798 meters above sea level and offers amazing views of 13 lakes, nine towns, many mountain summits of the Swiss Alps and even as far as Germany and France on clear days. You can also see plenty of paragliders.
It really is no wonder so many tourists have been coming to Rigi over the past 200 years. Clear alpine air, wide open spaces and walking trails definitely sound appealing. If you ever decide to visit we recommend using the cogwheel train instead of car rentals since parking spots are limited. In fact, Rigi Railways, founded in 1871 is Europe’s oldest mountain railways and also is one of the most reliable.
At the summit there is a restaurant and cafeteria, hiking trails, communications tower and various look out points where visitors can admire the view. There is also a symbolic stone in commemoration of a tie up with a mountain in China.
We went there during the summer and it was really stunning. However, it’s beautiful all year long, even in winter when it becomes a ski destination.
