HiDef: The Last Canadian Pacific 259!
*Recommended Viewing: Set to 720p*
On July 24, 2012, I decided to make a trip up to Bound Brook, New Jersey on the Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh Line. The day yielded some great catches, but the highlight was this train -- CP 259. Of all the times I've been to Bound Brook, I've always wanted to see the Canadian Pacific trackage rights train, but never got that chance. Coincidentally, the first time I caught it (this video) would be the last! I'm still not sure what the details are, but from what I can remember, one of Canadian Pacific's major customers in the Oak Island, NJ area (where CP 259 originated) had croaked -- delivering a fatal blow to the train. This was the last CP 259 to run west out of Oak Island. It was clearing out the remaining cars from CP out of Conrail Shared Assets Oak Island Yard. The train has a trio of EMD SD40-2's for power -- a DME SD40-2, ICE SD40-2, and CP SD40-2. I hope that you enjoy!

South Branch Raritan River 4/12/14 - Here There Be Monsters
I set out today to catch a big smallmouth from the Raritan River, and I did exactly that. But then, one of the Raritan's other river monsters came out to play, pushing my tackle to the limit! Watch me do epic battle with the sometimes maligned, and always underrated, common carp!

Jersey City, New Jersey - Hudson Bergen Light Rail Newport Station (2019)
Pavonia/Newport is a station on the Hudson–Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) located at Mall Drive East in Jersey City, New Jersey. There are two tracks and an island platform. Current NJ Transit maps and timetables refer to this station as Newport, following a similar change several years earlier in the name of the adjacent PATH station.
The station opened on November 18, 2000. Northbound service from the station is available to Hoboken Terminal and Tonnelle Avenue, in North Bergen. Southbound service is available to West Side Avenue in Jersey City and 8th Street in Bayonne. Connection to PATH trains to midtown Manhattan and to New Jersey Transit commuter train service are available at Hoboken Terminal. Transfers to PATH trains to Newark, Harrison, and downtown Manhattan are available at Exchange Place.
Connecting New York Waterway ferry service was discontinued in January 2014 due to deteriorating pier conditions. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway to Hoboken Terminal also had been recently completed allowing access to the ferry services at the terminal from Newport.
As of 2014, it is the busiest station on the HBLR system (with an average of 6,122 passenger boardings daily).
Railfanning CSX: Spring 2011

Throughout the end of May, and the early days of June, I spent some time trackside on the CSX Trenton Subdivision. In this video, we'll visit three different locations. Woodbourne, Pennsylvania is the first location, where we'll see train Q300 throttling hard with an SD40-2 on the lead. We'll see one more train at Woodbourne before moving into central New Jersey. Just barely sighting Q706 at Pennington, New Jersey, I then repositioned to West Trenton, NJ for the remainder of the sightings. I hope that you enjoy this video -- and the many new videos to come!
