Stegna [ˈstɛɡna] is a village in Nowy Dwór Gdański County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina called Gmina Stegna. It lies approximately 13 kilometres north of Nowy Dwór Gdański and 32 km east of the regional capital Gdańsk. Before 1793 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, 1772-1919 Prussia and Germany, 1920-1939 Free City of Danzig, 1939 - February 1945 Nazi Germany. It is the capital of Malbork County. Founded in the 13th century by the Knights of the Teutonic Order, the town is noted for its medieval Malbork Castle, built in the 13th Century as the Order's headquarters and of what later became known as Royal Prussia.
