Celje is the third-largest town in Slovenia. It is a regional center of the traditional Slovenian region of Styria and the administrative seat of the City Municipality of Celje (Slovene: Mestna občina Celje). The town of Celje is located below Upper Celje Castle (407 m or 1,335 ft) at the confluence of the Savinja, Hudinja, Ložnica, and Voglajna rivers in the lower Savinja Valley, and at the crossing of the roads connecting Ljubljana, Maribor, Velenje, and the Central Sava Valley. It lies 238 m (781 ft) above mean sea level (MSL).

Celje was known as Celeia during the Roman period. Early attestations of the name during or following Slavic settlement include Cylia in 452, ecclesiae Celejanae in 579, Zellia in 824, in Cilia in 1310, Cilli in 1311, and Celee in 1575. The proto-Slovene name *Ceľe or *Celьje, from which modern Slovene Celje developed, was borrowed from Vulgar Latin Celeae. The name is of pre-Roman origin and its further etymology is unclear. In the local Slovene dialect, Celje is called Cjele or Cele. In German it is called Cilli, and it is known in Italian as Cilli or Celie.

The first settlement in the area of Celje appeared during the Hallstatt era. The settlement was known in the Celtic times and to Ancient Greek historians as Kelea; findings suggest that Celts coined Noric money in the region.

Celje became part of independent Slovenia following the Ten-Day War in 1991. On 7 April 2006, Celje became the seat of a new Diocese of Celje, created by Pope Benedict XVI within the Archdiocese of Maribor. The town's tourist sights include a Grayfriars' monastery founded in 1241 and a palace from the 16th century.

I present to you the beautiful old town of Ptuj, which lies in the center of Ptuj. In the center of Ptuj on the hill stands the
Ptuj castle, where we have beautiful view of the entire city of Ptuj. The paintings, furniture and other attractions of that time
are displayed in the castle museum and also a carnival masks museum. Under the castle, we can admire old buildings, the church of St. Juri, Orpheus monument, Town Tower, Town Hall and other attractions. The old town of Ptuj offers a variety of good food. Personally, I was at the Chinese Garden restaurant, where they have very good food and staff is very friendly. Visit Ptuj is suitable

and developed from a Roman military fort. Ptuj was located at a strategically important crossing of the Drava River,

Maribor, home of the oldest grape vine in the world, is the second most important centre and the second largest city of Slovenia. Guinness Book-certified oldest vine in the world (about 450 years old) growing on the front of the Old Vine House in Lent, the oldest part of the town on the enbankment of the Drava river. The Maribor`s Old Vine is given a lot of tourist promotional protocol events – the most famous and most popular is certainly the Vine’s grape harvest - the highlight of the traditional Old Vine Festival (Festival Stare trte) held annually at the end of September.

Maribors has about 114.000 inhabitants who live embraced in its wine growing hills and the Mariborsko Pohorje mountain which is the largest ski resort in Slovenia, located just south of Maribor. The resort consists of three sections: lower section Snow Stadium, middle section Bolfenk and an upper section called Areh. The resort as a whole offers 42 km of north-facing ski slopes, 27 km of cross-country skiing, and 10 km of night skiing. It is best known for its Golden Fox competition, women's World Cup races in giant slalom and slalom, held since 1964.
Maribor is located near the Slovenian border with Austria, beside the Drava River and at the centre of five natural geographic regions, Maribor is the capital of Štajerska, the Slovenian Styria.

Maribor (German: Marburg an der Drau) is the second largest city in Slovenia. Maribor lies on the river Drava at the meeting point of the Pohorje mountain, the Drava Valley, the Drava Plain, and the Kozjak and Slovenske gorice hill ranges. Maribor's coat of arms features a white dove flying downwards above a white castle with two towers and a portcullis on a red shield.

Maribor is also the seat of the Municipality of Maribor, which has 119,071 inhabitants as of 2007, and the center of the Slovenian region of Lower Styria and its largest city.
