This is an amazing property on a huge piece of land with a lawn as big as a soccer field, The place is stocked with all sports equipment for fun on the amazing lawn as big as soccer field! Footballs, soccer balls, wiffle ball, Zarts, Bocce Ball, Croquette, you name it, the equipment is there! Plan you family competiion! Oak trees, an arboretum, 33 specimen roses, fruit trees, with expansive views from the large balcony overlooking your park like yard. Great for dogs, kids, and kids at heart.
2 minutes to Arroyo Burro/Hendry's Beach one of the very best in Santa Barbara, 5 mins to downtown, the Pier, the Wharf, State Street, Court House, and Mission. 10 minutes to the SB Airport next to UCSB.
The property we well maintained and very clean. Dogs are allowed, and great care is taken so you'd never know it! If you have a dog or dogs to bring along, they must be housebroken and not bark excessively.
There is a Zipline, tree swings, a Tarzan rope, cross train rope to climb, hammock, tetherball, croquette --- and a lawn as big as a football field. It's a huge play land. FAMILIES WITH KIDS, and there are TONS OF TOYS AND GAMES FOR KIDS for hours of entertainment.
The rental is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with a wood burning fireplace, wood provided, all newly done with new carpet, drapes, furniture, bedding, and floors. There are extra linens and towels for ultra comfort during your stay, so you don't run out. HD TV's with DVD's in every room, high speed internet, and Cable TV.
The kitchen is made for cooks! All utensils for cooking and serving with platters and all, as well as a full kitchen of built in and counter appliances. It's well stocked with spices and basic pantry items, depending on other guests' use, but so much, so help yourself!
The property is by an amazing expansive sandy beach, Hendry's, framed by beautiful cliffs. A Dog beach is on the left side, Boathouse Restaurant and miles of beach to walk on the right. The Wilcox/Douglas Preserve is 5 mins away, a great dog park or walk along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
The house is extremely private in a very rural area, which is unusual since it's close to the beach and downtown. No neighbors can see in. The house is built into a hill so it's naturally quiet. The lawn alone is about one acre and is bordered by 27 acres of wild land. It is mainly fenced. The top deck is huge for dining, relaxing an BBQ's. This deck has a gate to contain your dog for your stay in the house, so your pup can go in and out. This rental is above the yard and overlooks it for a breathtaking view. There is a flagstone staircase to take you on a garden walk down to the yard, with the huge lawn, the zipline, rope swings, and relaxing time in the hammock.
Upon arrival, you will see a Butterfly Garden with special plants to sustain the life cycle of the endangered Monarch Butterfly. Caterpillars, and Chrysalis and flying Monarch's abound. Hummingbirds visit daily!
The specimen trees are amazing! Pick fruit for you stay: apples, plums, avocados, oranges, lemons, peaches, loquats.
There is a specimen rose garden of 33 never to be bred again roses saved from a historic garden. Enjoy their beauty and cut them for your stay to fragrance your property.
This is an artist's house with original French impressionist oil paintings throughout. The scenes in the paintings are landscapes from the area.
For larger groups, there is a second unit below (the entire structure is built into a hillside. The second unit is VRBO 401412, and is a 2 bed/1 bath. The yard is shared with the unit below. The yard is as big as a park, so there is plenty of room. The entry to each unit is completely separated, private, and you may not see the other party except maybe on the driveway, which is shared, or in the play land yard.
For a group, you can rent both units based on availability and a passage to open both up to one another will be made available.
For stays of 1 week or more, a housekeeper will come one of the days to clean and do wash and fold personal laundry, all included in the price.
The management of the unit is done by a good owner/manager with a 5 star rating for the lower unit and a 5 star rating for this upper.
