It produced as much as two thirds of Europe's copper needs and helped fund many of Sweden's wars in the 17th century. Dalhalla is an open air theatre located in a former limestone quarry, and is used as a summer music venue. It is located 7 km north of Lake Siljan and the municipality of Rättvik in Dalarna, central Sweden. The quarry, previously known as Draggängarna, is 60 m deep, 400 m long and 175 m wide. It was in operation until 1990. The open air theater was opened in 1995 and currently has 4,000 seats. The acoustical qualities are comparable to the best outdoor stages in Europe. Dalhalla presents 20-30 events each summer, from June to the beginning of September with a combination of opera, choral works, jazz and popular concerts making up the bulk of the program. Furuvik Zoo is an amusement park and zoo in Furuvik, Sweden.Furuviksparken was founded in 1900 by Oscar Jakobsson and officially opened by count Olle Cronstedt. In 1938 the zoo was bought by Gösta Nygren, who managed the zoo for 45 years. Nygren established a youth circus, Furiksbarnen , which became the main attraction not only in the park but also on travelling tours. Nyhren also introduced live concerts with famous artists, like Louis Armstrong, Jussi Björling and Sammy Davis. Gävle Municipality took over the park 1983, again sold to Tom Widorson in 2004, and in 2010 sold to the present owner, Parks & Resorts Scandinavia.

Den Europeiska Trafikantveckan är en upplysningskampanj som äger rum 16—22 september varje år. Kampanjen går ut på att motivera medborgarna att cykla, gå och använda kollektivtrafik i så stor utsträckning som möjligt, samt att uppmuntra de europeiska städerna att, på olika sätt, underlätta för invånarna att använda dessa alternativ.
Årets tema är På väg åt rätt håll och fokuserar på hållbar rörlighet och Söderhamns aktiviteter under Trafikantveckan och här kommer lite film från gång och cykelvägar i Söderhamns stad.

Ett friskare Sverige är en nationell uppmärksamhetsvecka - 15-21 oktober - för att ge oss inspiration till bättre kost och mer motion. Söderhamns kommun arbetar långsiktigt med folkhälsofrågor och genom att arrangera Ett friskare Sverige vill vi dels visa upp det utbud av aktiviteter som redan finns på orten men även erbjuda olika typer arrangemang speciellt för veckan.
