Phuket Weekend Market - Just the food! - Phuket Night Market - Thai Street food at its best
►Watch all our PHUKET THINGS TO DO videos here:
We are at Phuket Weekend Market on the island of Phuket in Thailand. The Phuket Weekend Market, or Naka Market, as the locals call it, takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 16:00 until 21:00. The Phuket Weekend Market also known as the Chao Fa Market or Talad Tai, is located on the Chao Fa West Road opposite the Wat Naka, Buddhist temple and about a kilometer from the Central Festival Shopping Mall. We highly recommend that tourists take a taxi or tuk tuk to this night market as it is quite far from the Central Festival Shopping Mall if you do not know where you are heading. We took a Tuk Tuk from Patong Beach to the market and paid 400 Baht for the trip (good price). The journey back to Patong Beach in a taxi cost us 500 Baht. We would imagine that the drive from Kata Beach, Karon Beach and Kammala Beach with a taxi or Tuk Tuk would be a similar price, perhaps a little more for the Kammala ride...
This walking tour of the Phuket Weekend Market only focuses on the food part of this night market, and includes almost every food stall represented at the market. The footage is filmed in UHD 4K quality and as well as trying to capture the atmosphere and delicious foods available for sale in this amazing market we have also tried wherever possible to film the price of the foods. Travelers (tourists) watching this video very closely will notice that many of the price descriptions are only written in Thai, meaning this market is a Food Fest targeted towards local Thai people and is not a tourist trap as one may think it to be (if one has never visited before). This is Thai Street Food at its best, we had a fantastic time at this night market.

Wiki writes about Phuket, Phuket (Thai: ภูเก็ต, [pʰūː.kèt] is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. It consists of the island of Phuket, the country's largest island, and another 32 smaller islands off its coast. It lies off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket Island is connected by bridge to Phang Nga Province to the north. The next nearest province is Krabi, to the east across Phang Nga Bay.
Phuket Province has an area of 576 square kilometers (222 sq mi), somewhat less than that of Singapore, and is the second-smallest province of Thailand. It formerly derived its wealth from tin and rubber, and enjoys a rich and colorful history. The island was on one of the major trading routes between India and China, and was frequently mentioned in foreign ship logs of Portuguese, French, Dutch, and English traders. The region now derives much of its income from tourism...

CLEANEST STREET IN BANGKOK | On Nut, Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand
This is one of the cleanest street in Bangkok, that I have seen. This clean upscale street is located off On Nut Road 77.
This street is full of upscale highrises owned by THE BASE condo. There are several BASE condos all along this street.
It's also home to a private school and other expensive apartments. It doesn't even feel like I'm in Bangkok.
It's really quite an impressive area for Bangkok.

Banzaan Food Market in Patong Beach - Phuket Best Seafood Market - Phuket Attractions
Things to do in Phuket ►Watch all our PHUKET THINGS TO DO videos here:
Patong Beach Travel Video - This is a tour of the Banzaan Food Market located in Patong Beach, Phuket. The Banzaan Food Market, or Banzaan Fresh Market as it is actually called, is easy to find as it is located opposite three large landmarks (buildings) on Road 4055 (Google Maps) namely, the back entrance to the Jungceylon Shopping Mall, the Bangla Boxing Stadium and the Tiger Complex where it is difficult not to miss seeing the signature tigers all over the building. The Banzaan Food Market is by day a Fresh Food Market selling vegetables, fruit, pork, beef, poultry, dried foods and seafood such as salt water fish, freshwater fish, shellfish, crabs, prawns and did we forget to mention eels and frogs... This food market opens it´s doors at 07:00 a.m. and closes again at 17:00 (everybody is welcome). This Market is such an amazing experience to visit but very few European tourists visiting Phuket seem to have discovered this very clean fresh food market, which is very popular with the Asian tourists. The Banzaar Market has two floors, the ground floor where the fruit, vegetables, seafood, poultry, beef and pork are sold and the the first floor where there are some clothing vendors and the very larger food court where you can bring your purchased foods and have them cooked to your fancy at an agreed price, like a Thai Street Food Market, only you are the one bringing the very fresh ingredients from the market. Whether you are living in Patong Beach, or Kata Beach, Karon Beach or Kammala Beach the Banzaar Food Market is easily accessible for a fantastic day trip. If you are coming from Kata, Karon or Kammala Beach a taxi or tuktuk ride will bring you to the main entrance of this fresh food market for a reasonable pre-negotiated price.
During the evening the area around the Banzaan Fresh Market becomes a Thai Street Food Market from where you can buy all sorts of freshly made international and Thai Foods.
We hope you enjoy this no comments tour of the Banzaan Fresh Market with us (Maxi and Maro). Please leave a comment or LIKE if you enjoyed the video and also SUBSCRIBE to our channel to be alerted when we upload new videos.

#2WeeksInBangkok - Day 3: On Day 3 of this video series we first visited Wat Saket (which is known also as the Golden Mount), and then we proceeded on to Loha Prasat. After that we were hungry and went to hear at a Thai rice and curry restaurant at Nang Loeng Market.
00:30 Wat Saket (วัดสระเกศ) - 20 THB ($0.56) - This is a temple not too far from Democracy Monument in Bangkok, and it’s famous as being the Golden Mount, situated on the top of a man-made little hill. One of the highlights of visiting Wat Saket (วัดสระเกศ) when you’re in Bangkok is being able to climb to the top of the staircase (it’s not too tall), and getting a great view of Bangkok from the center of the city.
2:43 Loha Prasat (โลหะปราสาท) - Free - This is another one of the less visited temples in Bangkok, and it’s actually a really interesting temple, also known as the Metal Castle for its shape and design. Just like Wat Saket, you can climb to the top of Loha Prasat (โลหะปราสาท) for another nice view of Bangkok.
4:03 Kluay tod, Man tod (กล้วยทอด มันทอด) - 20 THB ($0.56) - One of the many common Thai street food snacks around Bangkok is deep fried bananas. And walking on our way to lunch we stopped for a bag of deep fried bananas at a very famous place that usually serves them to people in their cars waiting in traffic.
5:56 Nang Loeng Market (ตลาดนางเลิ้ง) and Khao Gaeng Ruttana (ข้าวแกงรัตนา) - We walked over to one of my favorite markets in Bangkok, and although there are plenty of things to choose from to eat, Ying and I both love Khao Gaeng Ruttana (ข้าวแกงรัตนา), the Thai rice and curry restaurant at the market. We got seats, and ordered a number of different dishes. One of the best dishes I had for our meal was hor mok (ห่อหมก), and fish and seafood curry made with Thai curry paste and lots of coconut cream. It was creamy and rich, and so flavorful. At the end of incredible rice and curry meal, I saw them bring out the pan of stink beans and shrimp and had to order it as well - it was outstanding. It’s one of my favorite Thai rice and curry restaurants in Bangkok.
12:50 Nam ponlamai pan (น้ำผลไม้ปั่น) - 35 THB - Located within Nang Loeng Market, there’s an amazing stall that serves some of the finest fruit shakes in Bangkok.
15:09 Marble Temple (วัดเบญจมบพิตร) - 20 THB ($0.56), Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคม), Vimanmek Mansion (พระที่นั่งวิมานเมฆ) - After finishing lunch we walked over to Dusit, which is the main government district of Bangkok to do some of the most famous things to do in Bangkok - some of the most well known attractions. Both Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคม), Vimanmek Mansion (พระที่นั่งวิมานเมฆ) are worth a visit when you’re in Bangkok and you can get access to both of them using your same entrance ticket as the Grand Palace (so keep your ticket).
18:59 Kuay Teow Neau Nai Soi (ร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อนายโส่ย) - For dinner we came out to a small restaurant that serves Thai beef noodles. I ordered a bowl of kuay teow neua buay pisayt (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อเปื่อยพิเศษ), braised beef and noodles. Read more about this restaurant here:
21:35 Lookshin Tongchai (ลูกชิ้นธงชัย) - 7 THB ($0.20) per stick - Finally to end the night, we had a couple skewers of some excellent home-made grilled meatballs.

There were all sorts of prepared and cooked foods as well as loads of fresh foods available - fruit, vegetables, meats and seafood, and everything you could possibly want from chicken heads to seaweed to pig snouts. There were also loads of Thai street food vendors. If you do a Google search for: Market Talat Nuea, Sam Kong Rd, Mueang Phuket, Phuket Thailand you'll find the location on Google Maps. It's open from about 3pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Thai food markets are one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food, or to buy groceries and fruit while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets all around Thailand, and heaps around Phuket. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it for over 5 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!
The markets in Thailand are a great place to try traditional Thai street foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai dishes in Thailand. You'll see the people cooking the food right in front of you. And best of all, the food is cheap, often much cheaper than eating in a Thai restaurant. Eating at markets is a good way to eat cheap on your Thailand holidays.
Make sure you check out some Thai Food Markets on your trip to Thailand, and be sure to sample some of the amazing Thai street food that's available in Thailand! If you want to try some of the most delicious food in the world be sure to visit Thailand!

Khao Soi Islam (ร้านข้าวซอยอิสลาม) - Best Thai Biryani in Chiang Mai
When I was in Chiang Mai, my main mission was to eat. Khao Soi Islam (ร้านข้าวซอยอิสลาม) is a longstanding restaurant in the city, get all the details here:
If you've ever heard anything about the food in Chiang Mai, I'm sure you've of a dish known as khao soi (ข้าวซอย). You might have already seen my video about what I think is the best version of the dish in Chiang Mai ( but there are many restaurants to get the dish. Known for serving one of the most authentic versions, or more shall I say, original versions, I had to pay a visit to Khao Soi Islam (ร้านข้าวซอยอิสลาม). The longstanding Thai Halal restaurant is located just east of Talat Warorot, and just north of the famous Chiang Mai night bazaar. One day for lunch, Ying and I went over to Khao Soi Islam (ร้านข้าวซอยอิสลาม), and though I was mostly expecting to eat their version of khao soi (ข้าวซอย), I was quite happy to discover that they actually serve one of the best versions of Thai biryani that I've ever had in my life.
I decided to first order a bowl of khao soi neua (ข้าวซอยเนื้อ), or beef khao soi. My bowl of noodles came quickly, and the soup curry looked quite white, and creamy, not so dark colored like my other favorite bowls of the dish. The noodles were almost spaghetti like, instead of being the wide flat egg noodles, and the whole dish was sprinkled with a big handful of dried crispy fritters on top. Overall, the khao soi neua (ข้าวซอยเนื้อ) was a little on the plain side - it just didn't have much flavor going on - it was more like noodles in a cream gravy - not bad, but just not overly flavorful. However, I did notice a cup full of fresh roasted chili sauce, known as nam prik pao, on the side of the table, and it smelled amazing. I added a few heaping spoons of the sauce to my khao soi, which dramatically increased the flavor and really enhanced the dish, but it still lacked the spices that I like in a normal bowl of khao soi.
Next up I ordered a plate of khao mok neua (ข้าวหมกเนื้อ), Thai beef biryani. I wanted to get the goat version, but unfortunately they had completely sold out of the goat before I arrived, so I had settle for the beef. I'm happy to announce the khao mok neua (ข้าวหมกเนื้อ) was one of the best versions I've ever had in Thailand. The rice was nicely spiced, and the chunk of beef was stewed and fall apart tender. What I really loved about the biryani at Khao Soi Islam (ร้านข้าวซอยอิสลาม) was the handful of crispy fried shallots and cilantro tossed on top - that was a beautiful ending tough to give the entire plate some beautiful flavor.
Overall, I would say, go to Khao Soi Islam (ร้านข้าวซอยอิสลาม) for the biryani, and if you're in the mood for a plain dish, you might also sample their khao soi, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat the khao soi.

Visite touristique / Touristical visit of Vientiane (Laos)
(EN) Vientiane is the capital and largest city of Laos, situated on the Mekong River near the border with Thailand. Vientiane became the capital in 1563 due to fears of a Burmese invasion. During French rule, Vientiane was the administrative capital and, due to economic growth in recent times, it has now become the economic centre of Laos.
