In this Jalisco Mexico vlog 2018, stayed in the Pueblo Magico, Tapalpa for a little less than a week. This provincial mountain town is truly something special. While in this Magic Town, we enjoyed the mouth-watering food of the mountains of Jalisco while soaking in the relaxing essence of nature surrounding the town.
So many people recommended we visit Tapalpa, Jalisco and now we know why! We just wish we’d come sooner! During our trip, we also made our way to Valle de Piedrotas, or Valley of Large Stones, what is considered the main attraction of Tapalpa. Later, we journey through some sketchy dirt roads to find what we later learned was the largest waterfall either of us have ever seen, and perhaps the most stunning thing we’ve ever seen in nature. This Mexican waterfall, called Salto de Nogal is an absolute MUST SEE if you are in Guadalajara or Lake Chapala Jalisco, Mexico. Heck, even if you aren’t in Jalisco or Mexico, we think this experience was practically unparalleled and a definite must.
What do you think of our adventures in this travel Mexico vlog? We'd love to hear from you in the comments! Where should our Tangerine Travels take us next?

COZUMEL, MEXICO - This beach is AWESOME!!
We took the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel Mexico to discover the BEST BEACH as we travel Mexico.
►Get Tangerine perks:
It's our last day staying on 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. In our travel Mexico vlog, we decided to take the 400+ peso ferry to the island of Cozumel Mexico in search of the best beach near Playa del Carmen. We did have to deal with some tourist traps on the island initially, but we quickly realized it was a good decision to travel here for the day.
We ended up spending the day at Tequila Beach Club, a local place not too far away from the ferry that we found from a few searches on Google Maps. The basic package was reasonably priced and included a drink, snorkeling equipment, beach chair, and access to the facilities. We had an absolute blast playing on the ocean jungle gym, snorkeling in crystal clear waters next to tropical fish, and relaxing on the beach in Cozumel.
If you're wondering what's it like in Cozumel Mexico, we hope our Mexico travel vlog gives you a little taste of what this island is all about. Make sure to stay vigilant to avoid tourist traps on Cozumel so you have a great time like we did!

WHERE TO STAY in Playa Del Carmen: We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lunata!
BEST BEACH CLUB: Well, if you're taking the ferry over to Isla Cozumel, we can recommend Tequila Beach Club. But if you're staying in Playa Del Carmen, we highly recommend Lido Beach Club - It has great drinks, food, and some of the best prices we've seen in Playa del Carmen.
WHERE TO EAT: We really enjoyed Carboncitos and Lido beach club. There weren't a lot of restaurants who treated us fairly, so be sure to stay vigilant if you go elsewhere, and give these honest restaurants your business.
WHERE TO PARTY: Tequila Barrel is where it's at! It's not a nightclub by any means but it's a bar that's full of energy, fun servers, dancing, and bar flare! Check it out in this video:
WHAT TO SEE (Day Trips): We highly recommend seeing the Coba ruins and going to the 3 cenotes nearby. It is an unforgettable experience! Check it out in this video:

Jalisco, Mexico
Located in Mexico's western region along the Pacific coast, Jalisco borders the states of Nayarit, Zacatecas and Aguascalientes to the north, Colima and Michoacan to the south, and Guanajuato to the east.
Throughout most of the state you'll get a mild climate, however the coastal region is hot and humid. The first place you can visit is Guadalajara, the state capital, where you'll enjoy a festive atmosphere full of art and culture. Some of the most important religious and civic buildings there are the Cathedral, Palacio de Gobierno, Teatro Degollado and Instituto Cultural Cabañas, declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Near Guadalajara you can visit the cities of Tlaquepaque and Tonala, famous for their ceramics products. You can also check out important religious centers such as San Juan de los Lagos and Zapopan, which receives thousands of pilgrims each year. At Lake Chapala and Ajijic you can take long walks, go horseback riding, or play golf and various water sports.
Heading toward the coast, be sure to visit Tapalpa and the picturesque town of Tequila, where blue agave grows for the production of Mexico's world-famous tequila.
Along Jalisco's 280 km (173 mi) of coastline, you'll discover fascinating beach destinations, including Puerto Vallarta and Costalegre. There you can enjoy top-notch hotels and excellent services offered at the spas and exclusive golf courses.

EXPLORE MEXICO: Hidden Jungle Adventures
In this Explore Mexico info video, I will reveal hidden jungle adventures found in a relatively unknown region of Mexico not explored by many people.
It is 1500 miles closer than Costa Rica from the US & Canada and has millions of less visitors than Costa Rica. In fact, you may not see any other foreigners on your travels in that region.
Where is this hidden tropical paradise?
In the tropical and mountainous state of Veracruz, Mexico.
It is still pristine, still undiscovered by most people and even most travel agents don't have a clue where it is at. This area of Mexico is not being advertised and that is a good thing if you are looking for a National Geographic-like Exploration Experience.
FYI - Many Hollywood movies have been filmed in the tropical rain forests of Veracruz with big name stars like, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Danny DiVito, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Mel Gibson.

Tapalpa, una experiencia de montaña
Un grupo de viajeros busca en las montañas del Pueblo Mágico de Tapalpa, Jalisco, nuevos espacios para estar cerca de la naturaleza y realizar deportes de aventura.
What to do in Ajijic, Jalisco: Tepalo Waterfall Hike
What to do in Ajijic, Jalisco: Tepalo Waterfall Hike
In today's Mexico travel vlog we explore one of the top things to do in Ajijic- the Tepalo Falls hike. We only walked to the first waterfall, but I believe you can continue hiking to several others (map linked below). If you are looking to retire in Mexico, Ajijic-Lake Chapala should be high on your list! With great weather almost year round, mountains, and a gorgeous lake, we can easily say that Ajijic is one of the most unique cities in all of Mexico.

Going to the EMERGENCY ROOM in MEXICO ... AGAIN!!
We had to see specialists & get TONS of testing—all with no insurance. How much did it cost in Mexico?
►Learn Spanish like us!
One morning in Mexico, Jordan realized something wasn't right. He felt lightheaded, difficulty breathing, and tingly limbs. Soon, he felt he might pass out at any second. Without hesitation, we rushed to the closest emergency room in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. We later found out this was a private hospital.
We were very nervous that no one would speak English there and we were both flustered and panicked. All our Spanish skills wouldn't have been very helpful in this high-stress situation. Thankfully, a lady at the reception spoke English and set us up with an English-speaking doctor.
Over the next week or so, Jordan had various blood/urine tests run, an organ ultrasound, an EKG, and a glucose test. He saw a radiologist in Puerto Morelos and a cardiologist in Playa del Carmen.
Watch today's Mexico travel vlog to find out all the details of this scary experience. We share things like:
- What are doctors in Mexico like
- Are Mexican doctors well-trained
- What is it like going to a doctor in Mexico
- Healthcare cost in Mexico
- Our experience at a Mexico emergency room
This is our second time going to a hospital in Mexico. The last time was in Tapalpa, Jalisco at a public hospital, which was a completely different experience. You can watch that video here:
