Mijas, Andalusia Region - Spain Travel Guide (South of Spain)
White houses, panoramic views, plenty of shopping opportunities - life is good in Mijas.
Getting There/Directions:
Mijas is approximately 30 km from Malaga amidst the mountains.
Car - Car Rental is available from Malaga.
Train/Bus - Take train to Fuengirola from Malaga and then bus to Mijas.
This is Mijas, a beautiful Andalusian village in the Cosa del Sol region in Spain. The small population of Mijas swells with tourists during summertime. Not surprising since the village has beautiful views and laid-back attitude, and even today maintains a strong character and cultural identity. All the houses are white in this town, what a spectacular sight! In the side streets, you get a better feel of how the locals live.
There are some nice views from up the hill, where we can take the famous burro taxi. Let's just walk up. How long have you lived in Mijas? Since I was born. My parents are from here. How is the view from the top? Amazing. We locals love it. When you get up in the morning and look out of the window, you feel like the world is OK. No cars, it is a quiet place. I am glad I live here. Let's go do some shopping now. For a town this size, surprisingly, there are plenty of shopping opportunities. This is Sara Shaikh showing you Mijas.
