Our Journey In France!
A short video I made for friends & family about our vacation in France. Enjoy!
France Ardeche Barrage l'Altier Stuwdam
Deze stuwdam ligt dichtbij het plaatsje Villefort in de Ardechestreek in Frankrijk. Je komt het stuwmeer vanzelf tegen als je vanuit noordelijke richting het Centraal Massief afrijdt richting Villefort (D906).
Opgenomen 19-9-2011.
This is the first island we visited during our honeymoon trip to Seychelles: Mahé
Mahé is the largest island (157.3 km²) of Seychelles, lying in the northeast of the nation in the Indian Ocean. The population of Mahé was 77,000, as of the 2010 census. It contains the capital city of Victoria and accommodates 86% of the country's total population. The island was named after Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais, a French governor of Isle de France (modern-day Mauritius).
Mahé's tallest peak is Morne Seychellois at 905 m (2,969 ft), which lies in the Morne Seychellois National Park. The northern and eastern parts of the island are home to much of the population and the Seychelles International Airport which opened in 1971. The southern and western parts have Baie Ternay Marine National Park, Port Launay Marine National Park, and University of Seychelles. The Sainte Anne Marine National Park lies offshore, as do Conception Island, Thérèse Island, Anonyme Island and several smaller islands.
Mahé was first visited by the British in 1609 and not visited by Europeans again until Lazare Picault's expedition of 1742. The French navy frégate Le Cerf (English: The Deer) arrived at Port Victoria on 1 November 1756. On board was Corneille Nicholas Morphey, leader of the French expedition, which claimed the island for the King of France by laying a Stone of Possession on Mahe, Seychelles’ oldest monument, now on display in the National Museum, Victoria.
In August 1801 a Royal Navy frigate HMS Sibylle captured the French frigate Chiffonne on the island. Mahé remained a French possession until 1812 when it became a British colony. It remained a colony until 1976 when Seychelles became an independent nation.
Mahé's forests have rare endemic plants found only in Seychelles, such as the critically endangered Medusagyne oppositifolia (the jellyfish tree), the carnivorous Nepenthes pervillei (Seychelles pitcher plant), and many unique species of orchid.
Mahé had a huge land reclamation project due to a shortage of housing, in the areas of Bel Ombre and the Port of Victoria.[2]

I had the pleasure of visiting Seychelles recently, and it's one of the most beautiful places ever.
The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean off East Africa, known for its beaches, coral reefs, diving, nature reserves and rare wildlife such as giant Aldabra tortoises. Mahé island, with an international airport, is a key transport hub, home to capital Victoria, the mountain rainforests of Morne Seychellois National Park and white-sand beaches including Beau Vallon and Anse Takamaka.

Seychelles the best kept travel secret
Visit the beaches. A lot of the beaches are untouched by man. Beaches on the Seychelles offer clear blue skies and a tranquility you will rarely find. A hike along the coastline from Beau Vallon to Anse Major will take about 1.5-2 hours and your reward will be a small deserted beach that's fit for a king. The scenery along the hike is breathtaking
Aldabra Atoll: The world's largest coral atoll. Aldabra is the original home of the giant land tortoise, tiger sharks and manta rays can also often be seen here.
Watersports: The warm Indian Ocean waters make Seychelles the perfect place for the water enthusiasts. Explore on board a yacht, power boat, catamaran or sailboat. Windsurfing is also popular and the best time for this activity is usually around May than in October, at the start and end of the trade winds.
Scuba diving, snorkeling, and fishing are also very popular and can be done almost anywhere in Seychelles. Baie Ternay is superb and easily accessible by glass bottom boat tour from Beau Vallon beach. A wide array of tropical fish are often seen, sea turtles, eagle rays and more!
Land Sports: Golf, tennis, squash, badminton, horseback riding, biking and hiking are some of the recreational activities available on the Seychelles Islands. Bike rentals and walking tours are great ways to sightsee and since distances are relatively short and the scenery is beautiful, walking is probably the best way to see the smaller islands (La Digue, Praslin).
Nightlife: Do not miss most popular Nightclub Lovenut in the center of Victoria, 100 meters walk from central Taxi station. Also entertaining are Tequila Boom at (Bel Ombre) and Katiolio (near Anse Royale) night clubs. Katiolio was one of the first nightclubs to open on Mahe.
Yacht charter and sailing, one of the worlds largest yacht charter companies, can take care of all charter requirements
Hiking There are several maintained hiking routes on the main island of Mahe and a few on Praslin.
