The Toolangi State Forest region in southern Australia extends from Mount Monda in the south up to Murrindindi in the north and includes the township of Toolangi. The forest is mainly Eucalypt forest that has regrown from the 1939 Victoria Bushfires. Large sections of the forest were also burnt in the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, although there are some pockets of old-growth forest that have not been logged or seriously burnt. Notably, the forest provides habitat for the threatened Leadbeater's possum.

Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park is a 25-acre biopark within the Pearcedale Conservation Park located at Pearcedale on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Australia. It aims to display the fauna that was found in the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere Reserve prior to European settlement as well as working towards the recovery of threatened Australian fauna. The park is open all year except on Christmas Day. The sanctuary, as part of Pearcedale Conservation Park, is an institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association . It is ECO Certified at the Ecotourism level by Ecotourism Australia.

The Dandenong Ranges, originally known as Corhanwarrabul,
(commonly just the Dandenongs) are a set of low mountain ranges, rising to 633 metres at Mount Dandenong, approximately 35 km east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The ranges consists mostly of rolling hills, steeply weathered valleys and gullies covered in thick temperate rainforest, predominantly consisting of tall Mountain Ash trees and dense ferny undergrowth.

We woke up one morning to take the dog out to the state forest and we came across all this snow at the top of Toolangi State Forest. Beautiful scenes and we had it all to ourselves

This series is aimed at beginners who are just starting out in the world of 4WD. I hope to provide tips for even the most novice of beginners. This first episode looks at some of the pre preparation you can do before you even hit the tracks. If you're a newbie I hope I can provide you with some good advice and recommendations and have you hitting up the 4x4 tracks around Perth or wherever else in the world you may be.

Reeves Beach Camping Area, Victoria Australia

Drive through and review of Reeves Beach Camping Area. Reeves Beach is about 2.5 hours from Melbourne. The nearest town of any size is Yarram, half an hour away. Camping is free but the site has few facilities. There is a long drop toilet. There is no fresh water so BYO. Unfortunately, the campsite is somewhat spoiled by long term caravaners who have hogged all the best spots and spread annexes and other paraphernalia over several camp sites.
