Totowa is a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,844, reflecting an increase of 912 from the 9,892 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 285 from the 10,177 counted in the 1990 Census.Totowa was formed as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 15, 1898, from portions of Wayne Township and the now-defunct Manchester Township.

Six Flags Great Adventure is an amusement park located in Jackson, New Jersey, owned by Six Flags Entertainment Corp. Six Flags took over ownership of the park in 1977. Today, the park contains eleven themed areas. In August 30, 2012, Six Flags combined its 160-acre Great Adventure Park with its 350-acre Wild Safari animal park to form the 510-acre Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari park, making it the second-largest theme park in the world, after Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Founded in 1992 by John Seward Johnson II, the venue is dedicated to promoting an understanding of and appreciation for contemporary sculpture by organizing exhibitions, publishing catalogues, and offering a variety of educational programs and special community events. In July 2000, GFS became a nonprofit organization open to the public. Operation revenues come from visitors, art patrons, donations, and grants. PATERSON | The Silk City

Paterson, founded in 1791, was one of the first industrial centers in the United States. In 1794 power was harnessed from the falls and drove engineers, entrepreneurs, artisans, and inventors to the city due to this new technology.

By 1870 almost 50 percent of the silk made in the United States was manufactured in Paterson which made the city known as Silk City. In 1933 the silk mills fell victim to the labor strike and have since never recovered.

The city has evolved into a major destination for Hispanic emigrants as well as for immigrants from the Arab and Muslim world. Unfortunately, it also suffers from one of the highest violent crime rates in the nation and has a growing homeless population.
