Đồng bằng Sông Cửu Long là vùng đất màu mỡ ở phía Tây Nam Việt Nam, do phù sa sông Mekong bồi đắp, còn gọi là miền Tây Nam Bộ, hay gọi tắt là miền Tây.
The Mekong Delta (Vietnamese: Đồng bằng Sông Cửu Long, Nine Dragon river delta or simply Vietnamese: Đồng Bằng Sông Mê Kông, Mekong river delta), also known as the Western Region (Vietnamese: Miền Tây) or the South-western region (Vietnamese: Tây Nam Bộ) is the region in southwestern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea through a network of distributaries.
Vùng bao gồm 13 đơn vị hành chính trực thuộc trung ương là: tỉnh Long An, tỉnh Tiền Giang, tỉnh Đồng Tháp, tỉnh Vĩnh Long, tỉnh Trà Vinh, tỉnh Hậu Giang, tỉnh Sóc Trăng, tỉnh Bến Tre, tỉnh An Giang, tỉnh Kiên Giang, tỉnh Bạc Liêu, tỉnh Cà Mau và thành phố Cần Thơ.
Vietnam Southwest comprises 13 provinces: Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, An Giang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Can Tho with limitless expenses of rice fields, fertile fruit garden, ground path, bamboo bridge, coconut range and especially, local cuisine. Each province is famous for its most productive fruit garden and farm produces like mango, guava, king orange, durian, etc. These delicious fruits can be bought at very cheap price on site and tourists can participate in harvesting the fruits as well. Besides visiting the gardens, tourists can sometimes see some local annual festivals such as Ook om bok in Soc Trang province and Ba Chua Xu festival in An Giang province.
Thanks to its charming beauty and unique lifestyles, the South Western of Vietnam is becoming more and more attractive to tourists within Vietnam and also from abroad. You will not only have time for relaxing but also for exploring the surrounding areas with diversified activities. For example canal boat riding, fish catching, enjoy traditional music performance - Don Ca Tai Tu, visit to floating markets: Cai Rang, Cai Be, ostrich riding, taste local specialties like Thot Not Juice, Banh Xeo, Coconut, discover Tra Su Cajuput Forest, visit Khmer Pagodas, relax at Ha Tien Beach, visit orchard gardens, experience the floating life,…
The thick canals make advantages of appearing lively colorful floating markets such as Cai Rang, Phong Dien, Phung Hiep. Houses on stilts line the waterways. At the floating market, you can buy some special fruits of the Western Region. In addition, you also have a chance to experience several activities of local people here. From a small building perched on the riverbank you can sit and eat breakfast and watch the market. Local people in southwest are well known for their friendliness, hospitality and cooking cleverness.
The beauty of this region can be not described completely through the words. Therefore, tourists should go on a sightseeing tour of the South-western of Vietnam to explore this wonderful place. Southwest of Vietnam is really a great choice for escaping from hustle and bustle cities. Please contemplate the beauty of 13 western provinces in Vietnam through the following clip.
Have a good time!
Bai Lu Beach Vinh Coast Vietnam
It's Rainy season here in Vietnam (May to October), but it only rains for 1 or 2 hours at the most in the rural outskirts of Vinh City. The rain won't deter us from heading to one of the local coastal beaches tucked away in a beautiful cove called Bai Lu Beach.
