Video notes:
1) Denver's free MallRide buses are on 16th street and will take all the way to the Capital Building. They are all 100% electric so they don't smell at all! It runs 7 days a week and stops on every block. They run approximately 3-15 minutes and every 1-2 minutes during peak times.
2) The Dikeou Collection can be hard to find, but it's well worth it! Bring headphones to take the free, extensive cell phone tour. It's entrance is right next to Jamba Juice and T-Mobile. The gallery is owned by Devon Dikeou and it is very interactive.
3) The Denver Blue Bear is called I See What You Mean and it's supposed to make you feel like a piece of iconic Colorado imagery is right outside of the Convention Center for all its visitors to see. Plus, the artist saw a cool picture of a bear peering into a window.
4) Take a tour at the United States Mint: the tour is free and is approximately 45 minutes. There are six tours: 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
5) The Colorado State Government Capital Building was born out of the Gold Rush in Denver, Colorado, so it's only fitting that the dome consists of gold leaf that is worth over $10 million dollars. There's also the entire world's supply of Colorado Rose Onyx marble inside of the building.
6) The only way to get to the 360 degree views on top of the Capital Building is to take a free tour!
7) Skyline Park is an urban three block park that allows you to do free seasonal events, such as ice skating! A pop up beer graden is also available.
8) The Great Divide Brewing Company is known for their various versions of Yeti Stout, so don't hesitate to try it!
9) Union Station is 136 years old, but it was completely remodeled in 2012 and opened up in 2014 as a large, mixed use complex.
10) My favorite bridge is the beautiful Denver Millennium Bridge, which is the world's first cable-stayed bridge. It's 200 feet high and it is located in LoDo.

Fun Free Things To Do In Denver
Fun Free Things To Do In Denver: Denver, the capital of Colorado, is an American metropolis dating to the Old West era. Known as the mile high city, a jumping off point for some great skiing and being one of the first states to legalize recreational marijuana.
HEART OF ART
Denver's Golden Triangle Creative District neighborhood brims with more than 30 innovative art galleries and artists' studios showcasing the innovative wares of nationally renowned talent and regional up-and-comers. Super fun walk to do with lots of cool photo ops.
COLORADO STATE CAPITOL TOUR
The Colorado State Capitol, modeled after the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., is a stunning spectacle embellished with stained glass depicting events and people inherent to Colorado, coupled with gorgeous Colorado white granite, rose onyx and yule marble. This is one of the only places in the world you will find rose onyx. It has only been found in a quarry in Colorado and 90% of the rose onyx currently known to be in existence was used within the Colorado State Capitol.
Blue Bear was my entire families favorite part of Denver just because it was way bigger than we anticipated. The 40-foot-high bear, which injects a welcome sense of fun and playfulness into the convention center experience, is the creation of local artist Lawrence Argent. It was installed in 2005 and has quickly become a bona fide Mile High City icon – and a can’t-miss photo op for tourists and locals alike. We are a sucker for bears in our family having lived in Alaska and seen them in the wild. We love all things mountains.
Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception: Open to the public but definitely a place of worship. We’ve been to a few basilica’s and some of them feel more like a tourist destination but this one although absolutely stunning was very calm and only full of worshippers. We didn’t stay long due to the sacred vibe we got and not wanting to interrupt people’s prayers but it is worth seeing for its splendor.
DIKEOU COLLECTION
There's nowhere else you're going to see a pair of inflatable, 16-foot-tall rubber bunnies, right? One of The Mile High City's most fascinating art locales, The Dikeou Collection is a private collection of contemporary art, with photography, drawings, sculptures, and installations by more than 25 artists from around the world. Free and open to the public, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Super psychedelic and some of it is interactive which my daughter and husband LOVED!
UNITED STATE MINT TOUR
Tragically we did not get to do this but we wanted to SOO bad. They are closed on Fridays.
To see where your currency is conceived (sorry, no free handouts), follow the money trail to the Denver U.S. Mint. The free, 45-minute tours are led by knowledgeable guides and provide a fascinating look into the history of coinage. Both kids and adults will love getting up close and personal with the shiny pocket change that streams off the production lines. Tours are available Mon.–Thurs.
Denver City Library- If you are like us and like a place to relax for a few minutes or an hour with the kids the Denver City Public Library has a fantastic book selection and extremely comfortable seats in their kids section. We stopped here and recharged our batteries.
Thank you for watching our adventure. Now go out there, make your own and tell me all about it. Until next time. Keep traveling.
Colorado - United States
Colorado is a U.S. state that encompasses most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. Colorado is part of the Western United States, the Southwestern United States, and the Mountain States. Colorado is the 8th most extensive and the 22nd most populous of the 50 United States. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Colorado was 5,187,582 on July 1, 2012, an increase of +3.15% since the 2010 United States Census.
The state was named for the Colorado River, which early Spanish explorers named the Río Colorado for the red colored silt the river carried from the mountains. On August 1, 1876, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant signed a proclamation admitting Colorado as the 38th state. Colorado is nicknamed the Centennial State because it was admitted to the Union in 1876, the centennial year of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Colorado is bordered by the northwest state of Wyoming to the north, the midwest states of Nebraska and Kansas to the northeast and east, on the south by New Mexico and a small portion of the southwestern state of Oklahoma, on the west by Utah, and Arizona to the southwest. The four states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at one common point known as the Four Corners, which is known as the heart of the American Southwest. Colorado is noted for its vivid landscape of mountains, forests, high plains, mesas, canyons, plateaus, rivers, and desert lands.
Colorado is a state in the united states and it's capital is denver.
Denver is the capital and the most populous city of Colorado. Residents of the state are properly known as Coloradans, although the term Coloradoan is still used. ( Wikipedia )
