Thiruppullani * Place of Shelter ~
About*
Thirupullani is the very ancient Vaishnavite Divya desam, which is at the south east of Ramanathapuram from 8 K.M and 4 K.m from the north of southern coast of Sethukarai.A lot of buses are there from Ramanathapuram to here.
This has the basic salient features of Theertham, Moorthy, Isthalam. Sri Rama (incarnation of lord Vishnu) in the ancient past had come to this spot and had worshiped the lord Athi Jeganatha Perumal and had got His Bow and arrow in order to destroy the demon king Ravana and got back His wife Seetha.
Again this is the place which had been the sheltering place of Vibishnan, the younger brother of demon king Ravana and who he became the king of Srilanka later on. The king of ocean with his wife had surrendered under the lotus feet of Rama.
This has been the place in which the 'Sugha saranarkal' had been sheltered under the flower feet of lord Vishnu. The great sages namely Pullavar, Kannuvar had worshiped here and got their 'paramapatham' (immortality).
So we simply could learn that Thirupullani is the place which has been known for it's 'Saranagathi Tharumam', that is it simply tell us that the surrender at the feet of the lord Athi jeganatha perumal would never have been wasted, sure we could get His mercy of paramapatham.
Again the king 'Dhasarathar' had been here and been gifted with four divinely children namely Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha and Satrukana, who were said to be the 'amsam' (like incarnation) of four vedas.
Again one who haven't a child for a long time, should come here and worship the lord Athi jeganatha perumal and should do the ritual of 'Nagaprathistai' (means to holy-erect the stone sculptured snake form) under the holy big tree found in the corridor of the temple and should drink the 'payasam' (sweet liquid ) which has been the 'neivaethiyam' (food offered to god) here. After having done this ritual, they should have been definitely gifted with a good child.
This has the unique feature of being worshiped by lord Rama (incarnation of lord Vishnu). Also it's been sung by (mangalashasanam) one of the 12 'Alwars' (fierce disciples of lord Vishnu) namely 'Thirumangai Alwar'.
The 'Asuvatham' (Arasa maram), the idol of 'Santhana Krishnan' in the form of having danced on the snake, the idol of 'Tharbha sayana Raman' (lord Rama in the sleeping posture on the 'tharpai' grass) with greedam and the sword and the 'Chakra theertham' (enriched with minerals) are the salient features of this Isthalam (place).
The shrine of Pattabi Raman*
It's just before the shrine of 'Tharpa sayana Raman' having with the majestic flagstaff and sacrifice beedam. Having guarded by the 'Thuvarabalags' on both side of Him at the 'artha mantapam', lord Pattabi Raman lies in the sanctum next to the artha mantapam.
The legend is that when lord Rama defeated and killed the demon king Ravana at Srilanka and came with His wife Sita on the 'Pushpa vimanam' by crossing over the ocean via this place 'Thirupullani' to His home town 'Ayothi', He had been requested by the devotees to announce Him as the king ('pattam' sootuthal) and He also fulfilled their desire and hence He has been called as 'Pattabi Raman'.
Again, one who bathe in the ocean here and worship the lord 'Pattabi Raman' should definitely get all the virtues in the earth, a spiritual saying in Sanskrit Sethu dharshnam itham punyam seshanabi naganyathae tell like this.
Shrine of Santhana Gopalan*
This shrine lies in the north of the shrine of 'Tharpa sayana Raman' at the corridor. This mantapam has also been called as Nagar mantapam and Santhana krishna mantapam. Here lord Krishna is blessing, having got the 'Athiseshan' as His Aasanam (seat). The idol is said to have been the one which, the king 'Dasaratha' (father of lord Rama) had consecrated here in order to satisfy his predecessors as well as a request for grant him a good child.
So one who come here for a good child, would have to do the ritual of 'Naga prathishtai' in which the devotee would have to holy erect a 'Naga's idol' (stone curved in the snake form) under the isthla virutcham of peepal tree.
One special feature about this temple is if any one of the vaishnava (followers of lord Vishnu) could begin his 'Divya desam's pilgrimage', he definitely would want to close his pilgrimage only here.

Irrigation reservoir at Ranthambore - Rajasthan
One can see irrigation reservoir on way to Ranthambore, Rajasthan.
Ranthambore National Park or Ranthambhore is one of the largest national parks in northern India. It is situated in Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan, about 110 km northeast of Kota and 160 km southeast of Jaipur, which is also the nearest airport. The nearest town and railway station is at Sawai Madhopur, about 11 km away; Kota is another convenient station as all trains stop here. RIDCOR operates a mega highway between Kota and Ranthambhore.
Ranthambhore was established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955 by the Government of India and was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1973. Ranthambore became a national park in 1980. In 1984, the adjacent forests were declared the Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and Keladevi Sanctuary, and in 1991 the tiger reserve was enlarged to include the Sawai Man Singh and Keladevi sanctuaries.
Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is known for its tigers and is one of the best places in India to see these majestic predators in the jungle. Tigers can be easily spotted even during the daytime. A good time to visit Ranthambore National Park is in November and May when the nature of the dry deciduous forests makes sightings common. Its deciduous forests were once a part of the magnificent jungles of Central India.
The park lies at the edge of a plateau and is bounded to the north by the Banas River and to the south by the Chambal River. There are several lakes in the park. It is named for the historic Ranthambhore fortress, which lies within the national park. The park covers an area of 392 km². It is known for its tiger population and is one of India's Project Tiger reserves. Other major wild animals include leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. It is home to wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles. Ranthambore is the site of one of the largest banyan trees in India.

Birds party in the Little Rann of Kutch!
Duck is the common name for a large number of species in the Anatidae family of birds, which also includes swans and geese. The ducks are divided among several subfamilies in the Anatidae family; they do not represent a monophyletic group (the group of all descendants of a single common ancestral species) but a form taxon, since swans and geese are not considered ducks. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water.
The Common Crane (Grus grus), also known as the Eurasian Crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae, the cranes. It is a large, stately bird and a medium-sized crane at 100--130 cm (40--52 in) long, with a 180--240 cm (71--96 in) wingspan and a weight of 4.5--6 kg (10--13.2 lbs). It is grey with a white facial streak and a bunch of black wing plumes. Adults have a red crown patch. It has a loud trumpeting call, given in flight and display. It has a dancing display, leaping with wings uplifted.
It breeds in wetlands in northern parts of Europe and Asia. The global population is in the region of 210,000-250,000, with the vast majority nesting in Russia and Scandinavia. In Great Britain the Common Crane became extirpated in the 17th century, but a tiny population now breeds again in the Norfolk Broads[citation needed] and is slowly increasing and a reintroduction is planned for the Somerset levels. In Ireland, it died out as a breeding species in the 18th century, but a flock of about 20 appeared in County Cork in November 2011.
