Villar Pellice is a comune in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 kilometres southwest of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,213 and an area of 60.9 square kilometres .Villar Pellice borders the following municipalities: Perrero, Prali, Angrogna, Bobbio Pellice, Torre Pellice, Rorà, Bagnolo Piemonte, and Crissolo.

There are more than 24 pistes , including 4 blue runs, 29 red runs and 4 black runs, with a pipe zone and a slopestyle zone. There is one cable car, 3 gondolas, 8 chairlifts and 5 conveyors. The resort itself is at 1,814 metres altitude, while the highest skiing can be done at 2,700m.The nearest city to Pila is Aosta, to which it is connected by road and also a cable car system.

The Fenestrelle Fortress, better known as the Fenestrelle Fort is a fortress overlooking Fenestrelle. It is the symbol of the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, northern Italy. It is the biggest alpine fortification in Europe, having a surface area of 1,300,000 m². The fortress, built by Savoy between 1728 and 1850 under the design of the architect Ignazio Bertola, guards the access to Turin via the Chisone valley and stands at altitudes between 1,100 and 1,800 m. The territory was acquired in 1709 by the Duchy of Savoy after the defeat of the French at Fort Mutin .
