The Visayas , or the Visayan Islands , is one of the three principal geographical divisions of the Philippines, along with Luzon and Mindanao. Located in the central part of the archipelago, it consists of several islands, primarily surrounding the Visayan Sea, although the Visayas are also considered the northeast extremity of the entire Sulu Sea. Its inhabitants are predominantly the Visayan peoples. The major islands of the Visayas are Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte and Samar.     Balaan bukid is a mountain located in Barangay Balcon Melliza, Jordan, Guimaras. This site has a church and a huge cross which can be seen from Iloilo City coast and known for being a pilgrimage site of Catholic devotees especially during the Holy Week. Alongside the trail to the top are 14 stations called Way of the Cross, which depicts significant events in the life of Jesus Christ. Catholics visit Balaan Bukid to be reminded of the suffering Jesus gone through to save mankind.

    Mount Talinis, also known as the Cuernos de Negros , is a complex volcano in the Philippine province of Negros Oriental. At about 1,903 metres above sea level, it is the second highest mountain on Negros Island after Mount Kanlaon. The volcano is located 9 km southwest of the municipality of Valencia; and 20 km from Dumaguete City, the capital of the province.

    Mount Guiting-Guiting is the highest mountain in the province of Romblon located at the heart of Sibuyan Island and dominates the entire island. Guiting-Guiting, in the local Romblomanon dialect, means jagged. The mountain is one of the focal points of Sibuyan's declaration as a biodiversity haven. The entire island has been compared numerous times with the biodiversity endemism rate of the Galapagos islands. This endemism prompted much of the mountain and its slopes to be protected under the Mt. Guiting-Guiting Natural Park, established in 1996. The park also encompasses nearby Mt. Nailog to the west.
