Vlorë is the third most populous city of the Republic of Albania. It is the capital of the surrounding Vlorë County. Located on the southeastern Adriatic Sea, it is one of the country's southernmost dominant economic and cultural centers. Vlorë was founded as an Ancient Greek colony in the sixth century BC under the name of Aulon and has been continuously inhabited ever since. It became the seat of a bishopric.     The Islands of Ksamil , consist of four rocky islands located in the direct proximity to the Ionian Sea in Southern Albania. The village of Ksamil, after whom the islands are named, is located to the east of the islands. Furthermore, the islands are situated within the boundaries of the Butrint National Park.The islands lies to the extreme south of the Albanian Riviera along the Ionian Sea.
