Boating Holiday in Holland
Boating Holiday in Holland. Boats and canals are a way of life in Holland, and boating on Dutch waterways lets you see the real Holland. Travel the landscape of famous painters, admire traditional windmills, use the many waterside cycle routes, and moor at neatly kept marinas.
Cruising is very relaxed from spring tulip time to autumn, with many locks left open throughout the summer months, and the occasional lift bridge a good place to meet fellow travellers. Moor close to the many canal-side bars and cafes offering good food and traditional Dutch hospitality.
The region in north Holland has many lakes for watersports. From our Warmond cruiser base in South Holland with its famous ‘watergate’ visit towns and coastal villages such as Haarlem, Gouda or Delft, and Leiden.
In Amsterdam you can moor in the marina a ferry ride across the ship canal from the central station. You can cruise your boat through the city canals, but care is needed, plus permit purchase. Or take one of the many canal cruise trips. Maybe take the regular train to Amsterdam from Weesp, about 10 minutes by rail.
North of Amsterdam you can cruise to Edam, famous for its distinctive cheese.
The famous Keukenhof Gardens are west of Amsterdam, near Haarlem, with millions of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other bulbs flowering in Spring.
South from Amsterdam cruise the River Vecht past ancient townhouses lining the canal through Loosdrecht to Utrecht. Moor at the quaysides or by the cathedral (limited height) and climb the 465 steps in the Dom Tower. Further on reach Gouda where the marina is in the middle of the old town.
The Dutch waterways give you many miles of lock-free cruising, with many opportunities for cycling in the flat countryside. A boating holiday is the best way to see Holland.
flower route The Netherlands ( tulip road trip)
The tulip flower route in South Holland, The Netherlands.
We start in Oegsgeest en drive trough Warmond, Hillegom, Lisse, Noordwijk en Katwijk. Then over the N11 and A12 to Amersfoort. (highway) Enjoy the trip.
The drive was during Kingsdag. That is the reason people had the dutch flags out.
Tulips growth and Dutch prosperity - The Netherlands from above
What opportunities does our prosperity offer? The Netherlands know the highest density of holiday parks in the world. It is a portrayal of our prosperity and endless redevelopment resulting in leisure. But can we also achieve growth by thinking beyond the products? This seems to work out in waste management. Waste streams and even our faeces is converted into energy. In fact, we are going back to an old phenomenon: for example, the annual stretcher race from Workum to the Bulbs region relieves the former ship transport from manure from Friesland, which has been used for centuries to grow bulbs on the poor soil in the Bollen Region. In order to bring the bulbs in perfect condition, they need this manure, but also the correct groundwater level is also important. One man, the crane man, is busy on a daily basis, making sure to maintain a perfect balance.
The Netherlands from above shows us a country from a spectacular perspective. From the sky it is possible to see how the Netherlands changes through the seasons, and how in parallel they form the determining moments of our own life cycle. Through data visuals, impressive aerial images and portraits of people on the ground, the second series of the Netherlands from above outlines an image of how time has changed our country and how we move in it. The way we live from day to day, and from generation to generation in this country reflects our resilient mentality. The Netherlands from above season 2 tells us the story of seeing and taking opportunities, falling and rising up again, reinventing the wheel again and again. Where the first series was an ode to the makeable Netherlands, this second series is an ode to our resilience.

Special thanks to/ Agradecimiento especial a
Visit Helsinki
The Finns are design lovers, there’s even a Design District in Helsinki, where you’ll find dozens of shops and galleries that show off the creations of Finnish designers. I will visit two of the most iconic Finnish design firms.
Nordic cuisine is among the most prestigious in the world and Helsinki one of its epicenters. Whenever I explore the cuisine of a place, I like to start in the markets. There, you can get to know the products straight from the source. In the Market Hakaniemen Helsinki, we’ll find good a great example of one of the most common products of Nordic cooking – salmon.
Finland has a population of 5 and a half million inhabitants and it is said that there are over two million saunas in the country, but I haven’t had time to count them all so I can’t confirm or deny the data. Here in Helsinki, friends often meet for a drink... in the sauna.

You can not leave Finland without practicing their national sport: the Sauna. In this episode Ruben Alonso is visiting Turku archipelago and he decides to know the authentic Finnish saunas where men and women enter naked.
