Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Williamsburg Plantation Resort - Williamsburg, Virginia
Overview
Surrounded by historical sites, the Williamsburg Plantation resort is just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement, Busch Gardens and hundreds of years of Americana. You're invited to spend your days strolling the cobblestoned streets of Colonial Williamsburg and enjoying a vacation that indeed takes you back in time. Save time, however, to enjoy the resort itself!
Relaxing Atmosphere
Modeled after an antebellum plantation, the resort's clubhouse features indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a host of other amenities designed to enrich your stay in one of America's original 13 colonies. The colonial American charm of Williamsburg Plantation makes it the perfect spot for a family vacation.
Historic Area
Wondering what you'll do and see in Williamsburg? If you're into history, you'll be in good company! Known as America's Colonial Capital, history abounds in Williamsburg. Colonial Williamsburg, a living history museum, depicts the life and times of Colonial America. At nearby Jamestown Settlement, the story of America's first permanent English settlement (13 years before the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts) and the Virginia Indians they encountered is told through film, gallery exhibits and living history. Fast forward to the Revolutionary War with a visit to historic Yorktown. In October, 1781, the Siege of Yorktown culminated with the British surrender to American and French forces under George Washington's command ending the six-year Revolutionary War and setting the stage for a new government and nation. Who said history can't be fun? And when in Yorktown, don't miss a visit to the Riverwalk area where you can walk on the beach, visit their antique and specialty shops and experience unique dining opportunities.

Our fully-appointed vacation villas are fully furnished with all the conveniences of home -- plus the graceful details you will find in only the finest resorts. Historic Route 20 in Massachusetts
Massachusetts - Is Route 20 an icon of Americana?
Everybody knows you get your kicks on Route 66, but does anybody get their kicks on Route 20?
Although Route 66 is immortalized in American pop culture, few people romanticize about driving on Route 20.
Route 20 has a diverse mix of business and residences with a changing character as you drive from west to east.
Bryan Farr, president of the Historic US Route 20 Association, thinks Route 20 should be celebrated, not unlike its roadway cousin Route 66.
The Historic US Route 20 Association Inc. aims to promote the communities along all 3,365 miles of Route 20, as it stretches from its eastern terminus in Boston, at Kenmore Square, to its western terminus in Newport, Oregon, less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean.
And, the Boston-based nonprofit plans to do this by working with community leaders and organizations to place signage (at the cost of $90 each) along Route 20 designating sections as Historic Routes.
As symbolized by snapped trees dismantled tent poles , Route 20 through Brimfield is a reminder of two extremes — the devastating force of Mother Nature (which was experienced firsthand when a fatal tornado struck June 1, 2011) and the world-famous Brimfield Antique and Collectible Show that sets up three times a year.
