Gander Mountain, a sports/outdoors superstore, was founded in Wilmot, and was named for nearby Gander Mountain in neighboring Illinois. The Wilmot Union High School, Kenosha County Fair grounds, the Wilmot Raceway, and the Wilmot Mountain Ski Resort are located in Wilmot.
