Wilton is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 3,677 at the 2010 census. Like many small New England towns it grew up around water-powered textile mills, but is now a rural bedroom community with some manufacturing and service employment. Wilton is home to the High Mowing School, a private preparatory school. The compact town center, where 1,163 people resided at the 2010 census, is defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as the Wilton census-designated place and is located near the junction of New Hampshire Routes 31 and 101, at the confluence of Stony Brook with the Souhegan River.

Quechee is a census-designated place and one of five unincorporated villages in the town of Hartford, Windsor County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the CDP was 656. It is the site of Quechee Gorge on the Ottauquechee River and is also the home to the Quechee Lakes planned community initiated in the late 1960s, which also brought to the community the small Quechee Lakes Ski Area in the 1970s. Quechee was known for a picturesque covered bridge at the site of the old Quechee mill, which now houses the Simon Pearce glass-blowing facility and restaurant. The bridge was severely damaged by flooding caused by Hurricane Irene in 2011. The bridge has since been rebuilt. Quechee has a small branch post office with zip code 05059.

The Daniel Cragin Mill, known today as the Frye's Measure Mill, is a historic watermill established in 1858. The mill is about three miles west of the small town of Wilton in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. For over 150 years the mill's production has been unique woodenware and wooden boxes used for dry measuring boxes. Presently the mill's main production is Shaker-style pantry boxes and furniture pieces for the various Shaker communities and their museum gift shops. The mill was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Vernon, Connecticut is a town in the Capital Region of central Connecticut. Originally a part of Bolton, Vernon was incorporated as a separate community in 1808. In 1821, Colonel Francis McLean built the first textile mill next to the Rock, a natural stone dam that made a high falls on the Hockanum River. A community was established around the mill, and by 1837 the village was named Rockville for its dam. In 1984, the Rockville Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places, boasting a variety of Victorian architectural styles and several of the old mill buildings. Rockville is also home to the New England Civil War Museum, erected in 1994.

The area outside Rockville ranges in character from suburban developments to rural wooded areas. Vernon benefits from a convenient location along Interstate Route 84, approximately fifteen miles from the state capital in Hartford. Vernon is the governmental center for Tolland County, as well as a center for professional offices and health services. Rockville General Hospital is located in the downtown area.
