FDR State Park, Pine Mountain, GA - part 4 of 7
Starting Off With Dowdell's Knob, And Following the road to the Main Headquarters and then the campground. This is a good review of what the State park is like. There are 100's of miles of trails for hiking and biking. And it is very impressive of the structures and features buildt by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Workers.

Thanks for watching our crystal mining adventures. Check out the sprite/fairy some people say we released while digging this vein. Didn't notice it for a couple years until someone pointed it out in the video. Here it is slowed down...
Watch as host Bryan Major digs quartz crystals in Georgia! These are dug direct from the vein they originated in. These are said to be some of the largest ever found in Georgia. Discovered by Jason Barrett in 2008, the crystals have become well known due to the size, the odd location near Atlanta, the rare alpine type vein they came from, and the super unique sparkle they had in the sun from the thousands of sprouting growth form baby crystals..
The mine in the video only has a limited supply left. The pure white quartz crystals coupled with the unique and odd growth forms, became a big hit up in Asheville, N.C. The metaphysical crowd and crystal healers have all loved the powers the Gwinnett quartz has locked away.

Nice Destination next door to Georgia directly on the atlantic coast with the main village Fernandina Beach. You find in the historical streets a lot of small souvenir and T-shirt shops, cafe's, bars and small hotels. On the other side of the Island you can relax on the wide white Beaches. For a first impression you can take a day roundtrip from Jacksonville by car using the highway and back close to the beaches (by ferry) to JAX.
Ein Tagesausflug führte uns nördlich von Jacksonville an die Atlantikküste direkt an der Grenze zu Georgia auf die Ferieninsel Amelia Island. Unser Eindruck war, dass nur wenige internationale Touristen sich in diese Region verirren. In der Inselhauptstadt Fernandina Beach erwarteten uns liebevoll restauriert Straßen mit vielen kleinen Souvenirlädchen, T-shirt Shops, Cafe's, Bars, kleine Pensionen / Hotels, eine Eisenbahnstation und einen Yachthafen. Nicht weit entfernt zieht sich der breite Sandstrand direkt am Atlantik, wo man bei gutem Wetter ausgiebig relaxen kann.
