It is one of Saskatchewan's few parks with towns on the inside of the park. The only town in Moose Mountain Park is Kenosee Lake. Kenosee Lake is the largest body of water in the park and serves as its central tourist attraction. The site commemorates the life and achievements of William Richard Motherwell, Saskatchewan's first minister of agriculture and federal minister of agriculture for the Mackenzie King government. The homestead's fieldstone house, called Lanark Place after Motherwell's previous Ontario home, is modelled after similar farmsteads built in Ontario. The homestead is surrounded by a shelter belt. Chinatown is an area in Winnipeg, Manitoba that was formed in 1909. Located on King Street between James and Higgins Avenues, it was officially recognized in 1968.
Winnipeg's earliest documented Chinese residents were Charley Yam, Fung Quong and an unnamed woman who came from the United States in 1877. After the completion of the first phase of the CPR line in 1885, hundreds of Chinese began to settle the Prairies. Transcona is a suburb of Winnipeg, Manitoba, located about 10 kilometres (6 miles) east of the downtown area. Until 1972 it was a separate municipality, having been incorporated first as the Town of Transcona on 6 April 1912 [1] and then as the City of Transcona in 1961. Today it is represented by the Transcona city ward, represented by a member of Winnipeg City Council, and, with much larger boundaries including large areas that were part of the Municipality of North Kildonan, much of the area west of Plessis, the Transcona neighbourhood cluster. It is primarily a working class residential area with some light industry.
