This morning we head off to a local vallage your just a short 20min boat ride north of Barefoot Manta! We visit Muaira Village which is the smallest of the 8 villages on Naviti Island. To get to school on the other side of the peninsula, the kids here catch a school boat rather than school bus! I think you guys know which one is so much cooler!!

What to do in Fiji: a couple of ideas
Are you headed to Fiji? For many people, a trip to Fiji is a dream vacation. Their main focus is on getting to Fiji, and they seldom think about what to do in Fiji. After all, spending the week laying out on the shores of a tropical south pacific island seems like a perfect way to spend the week.
Other people, however may get a bit bored with that. They may want to know what else there is to do in Fiji. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving are both great activities to undertake in Fiji. The calm, crystal clear waters of Fiji’s many lagoons is the perfect place to go for a dive, and the many soft coral reefs will leave you with an ample amount of sea life to look at while under the waves. If you plan on visiting Fiji between May and October, you can even see the majestic manta ray’s as they swim around the islands of Fiji’s Yasawa island chain.
There is plenty to do above the waves as well. Kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and paddle boarding are all activities that are wonderful fun on the calm waters of a Fijian lagoon.
On land, there is hiking, and horseback riding. Mountain climbing if you want to head out to the volcanic peaks of the Yasawa islands. You can see the indent on the beach at Otoculu where Buli Balavu knelt to fire the arrow that broke apart the Naviti island group. You can check out the Sawa-i-lau caves that are said to be the resting place of the ten headed ancient Fijian god, Ulutini.
Getting from place to place in Fiji can seem like a bit of an adventure in itself. But if you contact Turtle Airways, their seaplanes can pick you up from the beach of your resort! A low flying scenic flight from Turtle Airways is not only a great way to get from place to place in Fiji, but also one of the top things on many peoples list of what to do in Fiji. Be sure to bring your camera, the views from up there are amazing!.
