About This Episode:
The Zambezi Region. The area is rich in wildlife and has mineral resources. Of particular interest to the government of Namibia is that it gives access to the Zambezi River and is thereby a potential trading route to Africa's East Coast. However, the vagaries of the river level, various rapids, the presence of Victoria Falls downstream and continued political uncertainty in the region make this use of the Caprivi Strip unlikely, although it may be used for ecotourism in the future.
The Caprivi Strip in which the Zambezi Region is situated is a tropical area, with high temperatures and much rainfall during the December-to-March rainy season, making it the wettest region of Namibia. The terrain is mostly made up of swamps, floodplains, wetlands and woodland.
In addition to the Zambezi River, the strip also holds the Cuando and Kwando River, which marks the border with Botswana. Tributaries of the river here go by different names, including the Linyata and the Chobe. The province's far east is where the Cuando meets the Zambezi.
Gondwana Collection Namibia offer the best self-drive holiday in Namibia. Their on-the-ground knowledge and expertise are good assets throughout the planning process.
Driving through the Caprivi Region in Northeastern Namibia with Namibia2Go will offer you the best opportunity to experience Namibia at its best.
Namushasha is located near the Kwando River. Zambezi Mubala Lodge and Zambezi Mubala Camp are located on the river banks of the Zambezi, which aslo serves as the border to Northeaster Namibia. Chobe River Camp is located on the Chobe River. All of these form part of Namibia's Northeaster River systems where the great Namibian Wildlife can be found.

Impalila (sometimes spelt Mpalila) is an island at the far eastern tip of Namibia, bounded on the north by the waters of the Zambezi river and on the south by the Chobe River. It is home to some 2500-3000 people in 25 small villages,[1] including Tswanas (from Botswana) and Subia people (from Namibia).
Impalila is usually accessed from Kasane in Botswana, on the other bank of the Chobe River. There is a Namibian customs and immigration post on the island. There is also an airport with a 1,300 metre runway, used for charter flights to bring tourists to the various lodges on the island. The airport is a relic of a military base used in the 1980s by the South African Defence Forces, strategically positioned within sight of Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Impalila is a led by a chief who has the power to give land to the people in need.

The Coolest Camp in Africa
The Coolest Campground in Africa
I'm on Instagram at
Africa has a lot of cool camping opportunities. Whether out in the wild on safari, or along the Zambezi River, there are just never ending places to set up a tent with epic views. But, my favourite camp in Africa, and definitely the coolest camp in Africa is Ngepi Camp in Namibia.
This campsite is right along a river and hippos and crocodiles will sometimes come right up to the tents at night. It can be crazy.
But, also what makes this the coolest camp in Africa, believe it or not, are the toilets. They are king's thrones, and old English bathtubs that look out over the river as you do your business. It's pretty amazing

Sunway Safaris Namibia Sossusvlei Camping
The enormous red sand dunes of Sossuvlei and the Sesriem Canyon are highlights of any tour to Namibia, and Sunway Safaris offers a number of tours visiting this amazing destination.
The Namib-Naukluft National Park - is a national park of Namibia encompassing part of the Namib Desert (considered the world's oldest desert) and the Naukluft mountain range. With an overall area of 49,768 km2 (19,216 sq mi), the Namib-Naukluft is the second largest game park in Africa and the fourth largest in the world.
Dead Vlei - Nearby is yet another place of no return this one even older, and much deader than Sossusvlei. Known as Dead Vlei or dead marsh (Vlei being Afrikaans for a type of marsh), it is found among the tallest dunes in the world – home to Big Daddy the 343m high dune shadowing over Dead Vlei. Dead Vlei was once like Sossusvlei, with the river draining into it nourishing desert life and even trees. But no longer. Some 900 years ago the climate dried up, and dunes cut off Dead Vlei from the river. It became too dry in Dead Vlei for the trees to even decompose. They simply scorched black in the sun, monuments to their own destruction. The trees, now over 1000 years old, form a barren forest.
