The Eisenhower Presidential Center, in Abilene, Kansas was started in 1962 to honor and remember Dwight David Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States (1953–1961). The Center includes the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, Eisenhower Museum, Eisenhower's boyhood home, the Place of Meditation, and a Visitor Center.

St. Cecilia's Cathedral - Omaha, Nebraska
St. Cecilia Cathedral, Seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Built in stages, in the years 1905 through 1959. Designed in Spanish Renaissance Revival style architecture by noted Nebraska architect and Free Mason Thomas Kimball.
The masterwork of architect Thomas Rogers Kimball, the Cathedral was the tenth largest in the United States at the time of its construction. Built on one of the highest points of the city, its twin towers are a familiar and beloved landmark. In 1959, the Cathedral was declared complete and debt-free, requirements for consecration.
On April 9 of that year, it was consecrated by Archbishop Gerald Bergan and eighty priests. Omaha had been named an archdiocese in 1945, with James Ryan the first archbishop.

Tours of the US Navy Reserve Fleet
Known as the mothball fleet, the US Navy Reserve Fleet off of Martinez, California. The U.S.S. Iowa (BB-61) is moored at the inactive ship facility in Suisun Bay, California. Take a Bay View Charters boat tour with HSMPS staff and former IOWA crewmembers that take these trips to the IOWA, answering questions about the battleship and her future here in the Bay Area. This is a real chance to hear first hand, stories from former crewmembers, or what is was like being on the gun line during the Korean War. Want to know how it felt to fire IOWA's main battery and serve our nation in some of its most defining and historic moments? These hour and 45 minute trips take you to within 500 feet of the battleship. During these cruises, you get a great view of one of America's most historic and powerful ships. As you linger off the starboard side of the IOWA, the photographic opportunities are outstanding. This is definitely one of the best ways to see the IOWA, which is not open to the public yet. While viewing the battleship, you are also treated to a tour of one of the largest reserve fleet sites on the West Coast, destroyers, cruisers, oilers, merchant ships--an amazing fleet of almost 100 vessels.
