7 Things to do in Los Cabos
Los Cabos has a ton of new experiential hotels and activities that will appeal to a range of personality types. Here are my top 7 things to see and do in Los Cabos.
Take a Cooking Class at Los Tamarindos
Los Tamarindos is a 17-acre organic farm and restaurant tucked away in San José del Cabo. Get your hands dirty and take a four-hour cooking class here, which starts in the garden and ends at the dinner table. It includes a lesson in local delicacies and delicious, hand-crafted cocktails—because cooking is always easier with booze.
Attend the Art Walk in San José Del Cabo
Each Thursday night, San José Del Cabo plies art and design lovers with tequila and light bites as they interact with artists and gallery owners. Unlike a lot of art walks, the art here is actually pretty good, ranging from highly conceptual to just plain fun. The weekly event is free to all and one of the best nights out in San José.
Hit the Floating Margarita Bar at Chileno Bay
It’s five o’clock somewhere and that somewhere is the brand-new Chileno Bay Resort & Residences. When you hear the bell clanging, that means the floating margarita bar is open for business. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the signature margarita made with silver tequila and black lava salt.
Swim With Whale Sharks in La Paz
Whale sharks gather in the Sea of Cortez from August to May in order to gorge on plankton and enjoy the warm waters of Baja California Sur. Cabo Adventures operates a full-day tour that brings guests from Los Cabos to La Paz, Mexico, so that they can swim alongside these gentle giants.
Visit El Mercado
El Mercado is a new, under-the-radar food hall in San Jose Del Cabo serving local treats and eats. Stop by for a bite on your way to the airport, since it will most likely be on your way.
Stay at Hotel El Ganzo
Hotel El Ganzo is probably the funkiest hotel in all of Los Cabos. Each month, artists and musicians come for a residency where they either leave their mark with a piece of art or record a song in the hotel’s subterranean studio. The hotel also lends out bikes so that guests can take a scenic ride along the marina, which is also lined with artwork and sculptures.
Get Dinner at Sunset Mona Lisa
There is no better place to watch the sunset in Los Cabos than Sunset Mona Lisa, an Italian restaurant carved into the cliffs of Cabo San Lucas. It’s one of few places where you can see both the sunset and the region’s famous rock formation, El Arco. This ultra-romantic, terraced restaurant is the perfect place to bring that special someone and take in the beauty of Baja California Sur.

Cabo San Lucas Excursion - Lovers Beach and Cabo Arch $15
Cabo San Lucas Excursion - Lovers Beach and Cabo Arch $15
While cruising the Mexican Riviera on the Carnival Splendor we visited the port of call Cabo San Lucas Mexico. We decided to do our own shore excursion tour rather than booking something on the ship. After tendering into Cabo we spoke to the locals and booked a glass bottom boat tour for $15 dollars per person. This excursion included a tour of the Arch of Cabo, Divorce Beach, Sea Lions, Caves, Pelican Beach, Cliff Jumping and Scuba Diving / Snorkeling areas. We were also dropped off at Lovers Beach for a couple of hours and then picked up by our water taxi glass bottom boat.
Cabo San Lucas ( Cabo San Lucas Baja California Sur Mexico ) is full of history. If you find yourself saying what to do in Cabo San Lucas? There are many hotels, beaches ( Lovers Beach / Medano Beach) bars, restaurant and shopping that you can visit.
Many cruises also visit Cabo San Lucas such as the Holland America Eurodam, Norwegian Gem, Princes Cruises Ruby Princess, Oceana Insignia, Cunard Queen Victoria, MSC Magnifica, Princess Grand Princess, Carnival Splendor and more.

Los Cabos - Baja Ranch and Camel Safari in Los Cabos Mexico/Travel Blogger
Los Cabos Baja Ranch and Camel Safari/Travel Blogger
I started my adventure with a camel ride along the beach to discover the coastal scenery of the Baja peninsula on an incredible 4-hour tour from the Sheraton Los Cabos.
A camel might not be the first animal that comes to mind when you picture your Mexican luxury vacation, but the Baja Ranch and Camel Safari through Viator Tours is the perfect way to explore the desert and fascinating ecosystem of the Baja outback.
Before the camels and tequila, our guide lead us on a scenic nature walk through the desert where I learned how to survive if I were in a plane crash and landed in some unknown part of the country where I would need to know which plants to avoid and which ones I could use for food and water.
Look! I don't do bugs or reptiles and so when we ran across a spider y'all know I became an award winning actress!
After our quick lesson on surviving in the desert, we hopped into an open-air, off-roading vehicle for a ride across the sands for our next adventure.
The moment I have been waiting for my entire life!
Who wanted to be escorted by the sexiest humpback camel with the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. We set out for a camel ride across a wide stretch of beach along the Pacific where we learned about camel behavior while looking out at the beautiful pacific ocean.
Camels are one of the friendliest and most loving animals you will ever meet. I completely lost track of time and got entranced by their gentle, peaceful and fun personalities.
Powder the kissing camel was super sweet. I was a tad nervous about putting the carrot in my mouth to feed it to her but Powder was so sweet and I was worried for absolutely no reason.

Why Fiesta Americana Cabo Is a Great Resort for Families
Looking for a family-friendly all-inclusive luxury resort in Los Cabos, Mexico? Then you have to check out the Grand Fiesta Americana Cabo San Lucas.
In this video, I'll share with you our family's experience staying at this resort.
And be sure to stay till the end, because I'll be giving you 3 insider tips that will make your experience the best that it can be.
By the way, if you're planning a trip to Los Cabos with your family, be sure to grab your free copy of the Top Flight Family Guide to Kid-Friendly Los Cabos. Just click here or go to
Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos is located about halfway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.
Now, this location has both pros and cons.
The biggest pro is that it's very quiet and family-friendly, since it's nowhere near Cabo's party scene.
The biggest con is that it can feel a bit isolated.
If you're planning to stay mainly on-site, that's not a big deal.
But if you've got a lot of excursions lined up like we did, the cabfares can add up and it might be a good idea to rent a car instead.
The facilities at Grand Fiesta Americana are top-notch, extremely clean and well-maintained. There are several large outdoor pools, including a stunning infinity pool overlooking the Sea of Cortez. There's a beach, two golf courses, and a spa that specializes in treatments incorporating wine.
We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, which was very spacious and comfortable. Our girls loved hanging out on the balcony, which had a fantastic ocean view.
The service at Grand Fiesta Americana can be a bit uneven. Most of the staff members we encountered were friendly and efficient. But there were a few remarkably bad service experiences we had that pulled the average way down.
The resort has a terrific kids club, where our girls had a great time.
I appreciated the fact that they don't just keep the kids in the room all day. Some of the activities take them to different parts of the resort, like games at the pool, or a sushi-making class at a restaurant.
The beach LOOKS beautiful, but it actually kind of sucks. The sand -- if you can even call it that -- is extremely rough. It felt like I was walking on shattered rocks. And the water is too choppy to swim in, so it's only safe to play right at the edge.
Luckily the pools are so fantastic that it doesn't feel like you're missing out on anything at all.
While the resort itself is rated 4.5 stars, I'd say the quality of the food is firmly in the 3-star category. If you're ordering a la carte, it's not worth the price. But if you take their all-inclusive food and drinks package, it's really terrific value.
There are 12 different bars and restaurants, offering everything from steak to seafood, from sushi to ceviche. Even room service is included.
Overall, I'd give the Grand Fiesta Americana a thumbs-up. It's great for families, as long as you're okay with hanging out at the pool instead of the beach, and if you're okay with longish commutes to other parts of Cabo.
---
Here are a few insider tips to make your experience the best that it can be.
Insider Tip 1:
Bring your own Wifi
The Wifi at the resort is teeeeeeerrible. I tried to watch a 60-second YouTube video, and it buffered for 20 minutes before I finally gave up. So do yourself a favor and rent a mobile wifi hotspot before you leave for Mexico. Either that or plan to pay for roaming charges on your cell phone.
Insider Tip 2:
Try the steakhouse
By far the best restaurant at Grand Fiesta Americana is La Bodega, an Argentinian-inspired steakhouse. So be sure to eat there. Just don't make it your very first meal, otherwise you'll be a little disappointed by the quality of all the other restaurants you try after that.
Insider Tip 3:
Call for a golf cart
Grand Fiesta Americana is a large resort, and some of the rooms are located far away from the main facilities. But you don't have to trek everywhere yourself. Just call the front desk and ask for a golf cart, and in 5 minutes, a driver will pull up and take you wherever you need to go. For our girls, this was one of THE highlights of the stay. They were ecstatic every time they got to ride in what they called the little white car.
