2k540 is an Artisan district located between Akihabara and Okachimachi. The name emanates from railroad terminology expressing distance (2km and 540m) away from a starting point at Tokyo station.
Based on the concept “Experience Japan” only the best products from around the country are exhibited here: unique Japanese goods created by artisans using traditional techniques and materials.
AMEYOKO is an open air garden located next to Ueno Station.

A new diner serving local cuisines from across Japan opened on July 10, 2015, under the elevated railway tracks between JR Akihabara and Okachimachi stations. All of the 14 dishes are loved by the local people of the originating area. Imabari Yakibuta Tamagomeshi, for example, is a bowl of rice topped with grilled pork, fried egg, and a drizzle of habit-forming salty-sweet sauce (Imabari-shi, Ehime). Namie Yakisoba features filling ultra-thick fried noodles (Namie-machi, Futaba-gun, Fukushima).
