Far Horizons Tucson Village RV Sites in Tucson Arizona is a 55+ RV Park which offers full hookup RV spaces and park model home rentals. Recently upgraded RV parking pads provide guests with large concrete sites, patios and picnic tables. In addition to these sites there may be sites available within the park model area; those sites are on packed gravel and some have concrete patios. The nicely landscaped and maintained community caters to snowbirds with scheduled activities and a nice pool area. Located in an urban setting the park has a gated entrance and is located close to shopping and restaurants.
The main RV site area is easily accessible for large RVs except for the steep curb up to the sites. The remaining sites within the park models are a bit tight to navigate in to due to smaller roadways.
Access to the Pantano Wash Path, for walking and cycling, is available from inside the park.

Finding the immigrant trail
I did quite a bit of research to locate by lat/longitude a long stretch of immigrant trail in an area of the desert not accessible by motor vehicle. As a California history buff, it was great to ride along a forgotten trail that had seen 15,000 wagon trains go by back in the mid 1800's. I looked for quite a long time for a piece of wood from the thousands of wagons that fell apart or were abandoned in this 40 mile desert, and I think I found a piece.

Early Agriculture in the Tucson Basin
On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, archaeologist James Vint opened the 2017-2018 season with an exploration of 4,000 Years Ago: Early Agriculture in the Tucson Basin.
As far back as 4,000 years ago, families were living in the Tucson area, irrigating and growing corn along the rivers, hunting game in the foothills, and gathering wild plant resources throughout the desert. Major archaeological excavations along the Santa Cruz River in recent decades have greatly expanded our understanding of life during this time period. Dr. Vint led several of these projects, and will give us an intimate look into the lives of these earliest settlers of the Tucson basin.
James M. Vint, Ph.D., is a Senior Project Director with Desert Archaeology, Inc. Over the past 30 years, he has worked throughout Arizona and in northern New Mexico. His research interests include modern and ancient borderlands, the development of early agricultural communities, and the effects of Spanish colonialism in the greater Southwest.
