Trip Introduction
Annapurna base camp trek is an amazing walk through diverse landscape and culture complete with rich mountain vistas, terraced fields, quaint Gurung villages and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mt. Annapurna (8091m) of Nepal is the 10th highest mountain in the world and the journey to its base camp, which is at 4130m/13549ft height, is one of the most popular walks on earth. Moreover, we reach our destination via Mt. Machapuchhre (Fishtail) which is revered by the Nepalese for its unique beauty. Furthermore, thanks to the well groomed itinerary of the Annapurna Base Camp trekking package, it is a popular choice among diverse outdoor enthusiasts, from a solo female traveler to hikers travelling in groups to Nepal.

ABC was always in our to do list. This year being our 10th year together, we decided to capture the moments in the Himalayas. Have done plenty of treks before but this has been the best experience with highs and lows with memories to last a lifetime. The moment we started the hike we were mesmerized by the natural beauty of Nepal. It got better as we climbed higher and the urge to explore Nepal has become stronger. Nepal is truly blessed and beautiful.
Day 1 - PKR to Siwai on Jeep/Car, Trek from Siwai to Chomrong
Day 2 - Chomrong to Himalaya (Acclimatization)
Day 3 - Himalaya to ABC
Day 4 - ABC to Chomrong (Early start as it will be a long day)
Day 5 - Chomrong to Jhindu Hot Springs then Siwai to catch bus to PKR (that last bus leaves around 1530 hrs)
It's best to stay at MBC one day for aclimatization, if you don't feel well (altitude sickness). The most important thing is to hydrate yourself really well during your trek.
Lucky Guest House in Chomrong (Best food of the trek)
Upper Himalaya Hotel in Himalaya
Paradise Garden Hotel in ABC
P.S. LATEST INFO 2019: The bridge now connecting Chomrong to Sinuwa is already completed about a year ago which saves you about an hour.

Trekking in Nepal Himalaya - Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal
Everest base camp trekking in Nepal from Jiri trail was taken by Tenzing and Hilary to climb Mount Everest in 1953, and We did Everest base camp Trek and Kalapather trek taking the same trail in December 2014 with a group of friends/clients from Canada, Australia, UK and Ireland. We were planning to do all three passes trek, Everest base camp, Kalapather, Gokyo trek but it was snowing for 2 days so the passes got closed then we turn to do only Everest base camp and Kalapatther from the normal route.
Trekking in the Everest region starts either from the town of Jiri, accessible from Kathmandu by bus or private jeep, or from Lukla, a short flight from Kathmandu.
If you have a limited amount of time, then it is best to fly into Lukla from Kathmandu (although in order to avoid altitude sickness you will still need a minimum of 2 weeks to trek to Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar). But if you have the time it is well worth spending an extra week by walking in, which will give you ample time to improve your fitness and acclimatize for the high mountain trails. You will also enjoy the opportunity of getting off the beaten track and following in the footsteps of the early mountaineers on the old expedition route.

Informative video | abc trek | annapurna base camp nepal
A very informative video regarding ABC Trek in Nepal. For the information about the trek, please watch the end part of this video.
In this video, I share my experience of visiting abc in winter. I have tried to include detail information about the route to abc trek. I have people commenting about topics like the cost for abc trek or best season to visit abc, annapurna base camp many times. So, I would like to address such queries through this description. The cost definitely varies along with the time and depends on how many days you want to spend. An average cost might be Rs. 2000 or even be Rs. 2500 per day. Again, it depends on how you do.
Also, In this video, I share info about things to carry for abc trek. I share how cold it becomes during abc in winter. Things might be little different during a trek to abc in summer.
Well, I will keep changing my description and will keep posting new and latest videos. Thanks for your visit to my YouTube channel.

Everest Base Camp Trek: The Logistics
Hiking gear
Since Jeff and I were traveling and spent a month in Bali before our Everest basecamp trek, we were wildly unprepared for the trek. We did have base layers and some long sleeves, but not much else! However, it is good to know that you can find everything you need in Katmandu, Lukla or even higher, up to Namche Bazaar at 3,400m - however, it does get a little more expensive as you go up, of course.
We strongly recommend to rent sleeping bags and down jackets - we rented both of those for about $2.50 per day per person at the Kala Pattar shop in Thamel, Katmandu. We also bought the rest of our hiking gear, including hiking backpacks, hiking boots, gloves, hats, neck warmers, fleece-doubled hiking pants and warm socks at the same shop - the more you buy, the more you can haggle!
Aside from finding a good backpack to carry everything on your back, it is an absolute must that you also have an easy access bag, like a bumbag, for all those things you’ll be needing easy access to like your phone, chapstick, tissues, money, permits, snacks, camera, etc. We highlight recommend Eastpak products, and neither of us travel anywhere without their bumbags around our necks.
Altitude
It is important to inform yourself and your group members about the effects of altitude and AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Early symptoms from 2,500m can include a strong headache, and you need to stop climbing. Start descending immediately if you experience dizziness, shortness of breath while resting, nausea or exhaustion in addition to the headache. AMS can lead to HAPE (high altitude pulmonary oedema) or HACE (high altitude cerebral oedema), which are both life threatening, but usually only occur at very high altitude. Make sure to be aware and to follow the recommendations to avoid AMS, and don’t climb more than 500 meters a day above 3,000 meters. If you are feeling unwell, you can inform the lodge owners, they are very helpful and most can organize a helicopter rescue if needed.
Diamox should not be taken by pregnant women or anyone with liver or kidney issues.
Everest Base Camp Trek: The Full Itinerary
Day 1 - Katmandu (4,593ft / 1,400m) - Lukla (9,334ft / 2,845m) to Phakding (8,563ft / 2,610m) to Monjo (9,301ft / 2,835m)
Trekking time: 3 hours from Lukla to Phakding + 3 hours from Phakding to Monjo. Total 6 hours
The trek to Everest base camp starts with a relatively nerve wracking flight, in the smallest plane we’ve ever taken - only 7 seats, and one flight attendant! You will be offered mints and cotton for your ears as the plane takes off from Katmandu and zigzags in between mountains to approach Tenzing–Hillary Airport in Lukla.
Tip: Make sure to seat on the plane’s left side for the best views of the Himalayas!
You will see Lukla’s famous short landing strip with its 11.7% gradient appear in front of you. While it can make you nervous, embrace the feeling of landing on the 500m strip, it will definitely be a good story to tell!
Once you get out of the plane, you will find yourself in the second smallest airport in the world. From there, grab your bag, and let’s head on the trek!
You should normally arrive early morning, before 8.30am, so you can be in Phakding for lunch.
Start walking on the path and enjoy the first 2 hours going downhill - how easy, you will think. Beware, as you will have to go up during the last 2 hours of the trek!
Stop in Phakding for lunch halfway, and continue another 3 hours of uphill hiking to Monjo, through beautiful sceneries with prayer wheels and suspended bridges where you can spend your first night.

Jiri Bhandar to Everest Base Camp Trek in Nepal | A Complete Trekking Details
Everest Base Camp Trek has always been the most emotionally touching for me, this time we again trekked on the classical trail starting from little further than Jiri. Drive to Bhandar was 10 hours bit difficult but then the trek was amazing everyday. 23 days of our trek to Everest Base Camp was an unforgettable journey. Barry and i have trekked in this route 3 times together. Unfortunately, first two times, we could not make it to Everest Base Camp but this time we made it with all good health and good spirit. I call it the slow trek because we were walking half a days and resting well in the afternoon and everything went perfect. Barry, Wyane, I, Nischal and Narayan were so lucky to have the best weather even in January. January is the coldest time of the year in Nepal so its even more adventurous to trek but it didn't snow heavy on the mountain until we got back to Kathmandu. Thank you so much for watching the video, please comment below to give me feedback.

Nepal Adventure-Part 4-EBC (Everest Base Camp). Namche Bazar-Acclimatisation Day. #VisitNepal2020
Today we spend the day in Namche Bazaar. We do a 4 hour trek up to the Everest View Hotel.
Awesome blue sky to start with but it got really misty by the time we got there and we couldn't see Mt Everest.
We did see out Helicopter Pilot who flew us to Lukla, Capt Priya Adhikari. She was flying some tourists to the hotel.
Was great to see her.
After our acclimatisation trek we went into Namche and looked around. This is a great place filled wit lots of cool shops. I also got my Tac Glasses fixed. The screw came out of the arm after only a week of wearing them.
Found this little watch repair shop that fixed them for me.
Then went to the Namche Bazaar Bakery and had a nice cake and hot chocolate.
Great day.
