쇄빙 유람선을 타려면 아바시리항구로 가야한다. 유빙관광을 위해 특별히 만들어진 쇄빙유람선 오로라호는 하루4번 운항된다. 내 마음 한 구석에 아련한 그리움으로만 자리했던 ‘얼음바다’는 배를 타고 20분쯤 달려가 만날 수 있었다. 유빙은 염분이 낮아진 바닷물이 얼어서 만들어진다. 오호츠크 유빙은 러시아 아무르 강에서 수천 킬로를 밀려와 이곳에 도착한 것이다. “(유빙을 볼수있다는것이)행운이에요~행운!“ 쇄빙유람선은 뱃머리에 무거운 유빙을 실어, 그 무게의 힘으로 얼음을 깨면서 앞으로 나간다. 밑에서 들려오는 얼음과 배가 부딪히는 소리! 부딪힐 때마다 전해져오는 충격은 짜릿했다. 마치 미지의 세계를 헤쳐 나가는 개척자가 된 느낌이었다. 쇄빙선이 지나간 자리엔 파란 물길이 생긴다. 지나온 나의 삶도 이와 같을까? 아름다운 것을 보면 숨을 크게 들이 쉬라고 했던가? 벅찬 감동이 밀려왔다. 단지 바라보는 것만으로도 마음까지 맑아지게 하는 하얀 유빙! 바다와 하늘, 내 마음까지도 하얗게 빛나고 있었다.

It would take all day if I listed down all aspects in Japan that could benefit our country. I wish I was exaggerating but no, that's how cultured and disciplined the Japanese are! They are an awesome bunch of people and we really hope we could visit this country again in the near future. Heck, we still have 4 years before our VISA experires.
