PLENA SESSIONS - LOVE SO GREAT
Assista, compartilhe e cante. A Jesus toda a honra e toda a glória.

* Memories of Locanda Delle Fate in Niterói/Rio de Janeiro *
Among the various presentations of progressive rock bands at the Municipal Theater of Niterói, it was announced the arrival of one of the greatest representatives of progressive Italian progressive rock, Locanda delle Fate.
The group recorded in 1977, the impressive album called Forse Le lucciole non si amano più and in 2017, in commemoration of the 40 years of this masterpiece, a show in Niterói, in my hometown, was something unimaginable. A great surprise because, among some reasons, it is not the renowned ones, such as PFM, BMS and Le Orme.
The show was filled with excitement, both from the fans, who always dream of seeing great artists live, such as the band, who was doing one of their last live performances and they felt the audience's vibration with their eyes shining and hearts beating with happiness.
At the beginning of the show, with the song A Volte Un Istante Di Quiete, the emotion has surfaced, because it was a dream come true and, for me, at that moment, a flashback, remembering the afternoons when I listened to this track.
Keeping the pattern, as the show was going to developing, warmed the progressive night and seeing, in front of me, talented and virtuous musicians, each one in his own function soon, comes the thought of being a true privileged to be watching and rightly, in the first row.
It's an honor to be a progressive rock fan and to be able to enjoy bands like LDF, even more, live. This, of course, was one of the great moments experienced and is already stored in the memory forever.
At the end of the show, I was able to speak briefly to the bassist Luciano Boero, the importance that the group has for me, although the same one might not have understood it very well, due to the agitation of the moment because many people were wanting to have contact, but even so it was worth saying.
Now, after a year, remembering and writing, I still feel the magic of that night and all the positive vibes that only a progressive rock show can provide. It is necessary to thank the band, who believed in his highly loyal fans and everyone involved in the accomplishment of this huge event.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - First time eating Brazilian steakhouse bbq churrascaria! #Brazil #RioDeJaneiro #BrazilianSteakhouse
One of the most famous Brazilian foods around the world, is a Brazilian steakhouse bbq, and you’ll find Brazilian steakhouses all over the world. But to be honest I had never been to any outside of Brazil - and there was no better place to have my first Brazilian meat churrascaria experience than in Brazil.
Churrascaria Palace (Map: - We chose to go to Churrascaria Palace, a meat restaurant located in Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I could smell the aroma of the roasting meats, and it was a great upscale, yet laid back atmosphere, with live music.
Chef Silva took care of us from the moment we stepped in and first showed us the kitchen where the meats were being roasted. It’s very interesting to learn about the different cuts of meat that they use in Brazil, which are unique to Brazil. One of the unique and beloved types of meat is cupim, which comes from the beef hump from Zebu cattle.
Once Chef Silva started bringing us meats, he did not joke around - the Brazilian steakhouse bbq meats started flowing non stop. A Brazilian steakhouse bbq is typically served Rodízio, meaning it’s all you can eat, but the meat is not served buffet style, but rather it’s served to you at your plate. They slice it in front of you, and then you use your tongs to grab the meat as its sliced in front of you.
Chef Silva served us 14 types of meat, including some Amazon river fish. He told us he only served us the premium cuts, and there were many other less premium cuts that we were too full to even try.
Brazilian food is often heavy on the meat, and there’s no better way to experience Brazilian meat than with a churrascaria!

Annie Haslam - Rio De Janeiro (1998)
For a couple of years I have wanted to find a way to transfer my old hi-8 films on to DVD. Well I went out and bought myself a piece of software for Xmas that allows me to transfer them, these are from my various trips and escapades over the years.. I am thrilled I can do that, I'm addicted to it!
Lots to share so keep tuned in... (particularly when you see me in a SAMBA competition!!!!) But first!
In 1998 I went to Brazil with my solo band, Rave Tesar, Joe Goldberger, David Biglin and Denny Bridges our trusted sound engineer. The shows went fantastically well, the fans were super friendly and avid fans of Renaissance (we have still never been there (YET) as a band... I have some footage to edit of these guys, we had FUN FUN FUN! I stayed on for a vacation to spend time with my friends Carlos and Luiz. While in Rio my favourite place to eat is at a very popular restaurant 'FAZENDOLA' in Leblon (Rio) the owner and friend Mary Lou very kindly threw a party for me.
It felt so good to relax and have fun and a few glasses of wine...I do have footage of me dancing during the evening, but not sure if I will share that LOL's. I wasn't expecting to 'sing' so luckily I wasn't legless hahahahaha. The Brazilian band had learned our song 'Let it Grow' ahead of time. This song was a huge hit in Brazil in the 70's, but that was still not enough for us to be able to tour.
I do hope you enjoy my rather relaxed and giggly interpretation of 'Let it Grow'
Love Annie

STORYLINE:
Protests continued overnight across Brazil on Thursday, as more than a (m) million Brazilians poured into the streets of at least 80 cities, demanding improved public services and an end to corruption.
Clashes broke out in several cities as protesters faced tear gas, pepper spray and rubber bullets in their clashes with anti-riot police.
In Rio de Janeiro, where an estimated 300-thousand people demonstrated, clashes erupted between riot police and clusters of young men.
Some of the youths threw firecrackers at police who responded with tear gas.
At least 40 people were injured in Rio de Janeiro.
Elsewhere in the capital Brasilia, hundreds of protesters tried to take over the Foreign Ministry building on Thursday night.
Earlier that evening, riot police fired pepper spray and tear gas at a large crowd of demonstrators in the city.
Some demonstrators started small fires in the middle of the street to minimise the effects of tear gas.
In Sao Paulo, demonstrators blocked Paulista Avenue and marched through the streets while chanting.
At least one protester was killed in Sao Paulo state after a car rammed into a crowd of demonstrators, the driver was apparently angry for not being able to drive along a street.
By Thursday evening, the number of protesters had swelled to 1 (m) million, according local police estimates from cities across Brazil.
The protests were sparked off by planned fare hikes for bus and subway journeys.
Although government leaders in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo announced on Wednesday they would cancel the increases, demonstrations have continued.
Many believe the protests have become larger cries for systemic changes.
Demonstrators are calling for an end to government corruption and better public services.
The unrest is hitting the nation as it hosts the Confederations Cup football tournament with tens of thousands of foreign visitors in attendance.
It also comes one month before Pope Francis is scheduled to visit the nation, and ahead of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics, raising concerns about how
Brazilian officials will provide security.
The ongoing, growing marches have caught Brazilian governments by surprise, but have delighted many citizens.

Twenty-five percent of the residents of Rio de Janeiro live in informal communities called favelas. Not fully slums but not fully integrated into the city either, these favelas are home to both horrific gang violence and some of the most creative and resourceful people in Rio.
