The Abercrombie Caves, contained within the Abercrombie Karst Conservation Reserve, are a series of limestone arch caves that are located in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia.
This particularly attractive collection of limestone caves offer the usual array of stalagmites and stalactites. There is a river with a couple of particularly beautiful pools and the caves themselves have an array of columns and shawls with names like 'Hall of Terpischore', 'Angel's Harp', 'Plum Pudding' and 'Diamond Cascade'.

1990 saw several really big floods at Abercrombie Caves. These floods were the highest since the great floods of 1950. This video was taken by me during the first of these floods in February 1990.

Abercrombie Caves - Mount Gray Loop
This nice 6+km loop walk starts from the camping ground at Abercrombie Caves up to the old gold mining site of Mount Gray (Somewhat unsuccessful I believe). There's not much left of the old buildings, but still interesting to walk around. From there the walk leads down a road to the Grove Creek Waterfalls - well worth the effort of getting there and then returns via the Grove Creek track (unfortunately this track was closed when we visited).

Carols in the Caves began in 1984 and ran every year for 29 years. I ran the last on in December 2013. This 2006 Carols was a typical event. All performers, helpers and staff volunteered their time to make this event a success. The video tape was originally recorded by my cousin Bill Dixon who was visiting from the Netherlands
