I went with Rina-chan to Akagi Shrine and a nice Japanes-style tea house. Visiting temples, shrines and tea houses is a must-do for Tokyo, if you ask me. If you want to know more about the places, we visited, pls ask in the comments.

Demons, out! Good luck, in! I just came to this French area Kagurazaka in Tokyo to buy delicious fresh cut parmigiana cheese when I remembered that today is SETSUBUN, a very special day in Japan and many shrines have a ceremony where they will throw beans to chase away the demons and make the happiness come inside!! They will say “Oni wa soto” (Evil get out) “Fuku wa Uchi” (Happiness get in). We are so lucky to experience this!!! given for me it is actually the first time to see the school children performing these at the famous Akagi Shrine!! Also I am taking you around on the streets of Kagurazaka and we will enjoy traditional sweets together!!
Setsubun (節分) is the day before the beginning of spring in Japan. The name literally means seasonal division, but usually the term refers to the spring Setsubun, properly called Risshun (立春) celebrated yearly on February 3 as part of the Spring Festival (春祭 haru matsuri).
What do beans & ogres have to do with spring? In Japan, they mark “setsubun,” or the beginning of spring, on Feb 3, based on the lunar calendar. Communities celebrate by throwing roasted beans at ogres to drive out unhappiness & usher in a new season.

A Story About Kagurazaka and Sake
Starring Rinko Kikuchi, Yota Kawase, Directed by Takeo Kikuchi
Etsuko (Rinko Kikuchi) was given the post to take charge in the launch of a web media site which specifically deals with the theme “the streets and the town of Tokyo”. So her recent daily routine was to walk around town searching for materials that may be suitable for the plan. One day she runs into a sake barrel stacked in a shrine in Kagurazaka (Shinjuku District, Tokyo), and she finds herself immediately interested in sake and it’s history with the Kagurazaka area. She decides to do a research, and calls photographer and long time friend Ikeda (Yota Kawase), and starts her quest for the secret of the fascinating sake and the historical town. For Etsuko, who had been stressed out by her busy work, her idea of gathering interesting informations and meeting people for her job turned out becoming an exciting journey which eventually leads Etsuko to reconcile with her peaceful heart and mind, which had always been her nature.

I was lucky enough to have my family come visit me in Japan. On this day we started at the Imperial Palace, where we roamed the gardens and took in the history. We then moved on to the Tokyo Edo Museum where they had lot's of cool dioramas and finished up at the Dancing Crab in Shinjuku where you have to eat with your hands!

Michihito Fujii, a film director from Babel Label is taking us to the Akagi Shrine which is one of the most elevated spots in Kagurazaka.
Kagurazaka is a very inspiring city for artists and has an atmosphere very similar to Kyoto.
The Akagi shrine is a very elegant shrine with walls made of glass that has been rebuilt recently. Flea markets or second-hand markets are held on weekends at the Akagi shrine.
Michihito Fujii also invites us to the Babel Bar in Shinjuku, next to the Shinjuku Gyoen park.
The Babel Bar has been created by the Babel Label production company, so that creators can gather and talk about cinema.
