Trip to Jebel Shams - Grand Canyon of Arabia Oman, Nizwa Fort, Al Hoota Cave
This was a trip to the top of Gulf, Jebel Shams also known as Grand Canyon of Oman. Jebel Shams literal means 'Mountain of Sun' standing tall at 3009 m height above mean sea level. It is best known for its spectacular views and pleasant temperature during summer.
En-route we also visited Misfat Al Abriyeen an old village. Al Hoota caves and Nizwa Fort at Nizwa the old capital of Sultanate. A must do route, if you are visiting beautiful Oman.

The Al Hoota Cave is estimated to be over 2 million years old and is located at the foot of Jabal Shams, Oman’s epic mountain.
It is the first and only show cave in the Arabian Peninsula with a total length of around 4.5 kilometres, of which just 500 metres is accessible to the general public.
