Well, that obviously gives us additional resources, additional assets that we can bring to the table, we don't have medical facilities for example at USAID, but the Kearsage will be providing medical facilities they can deploy to different areas down in Bharisal (phonetic spelling), they can also, they also have lift capacity so they can, you know, they can actually carry the water treatment facilities, they can carry food, they can rescue people, they'll have boats, they can go out and rescue people. So this gives us a tremendous capacity that we did not have before.

STORYLINE:
With a U.S. naval ship stationed off Bangladesh's coast, U.S. military officials prepared on Friday to deliver much-needed food and medical supplies to the hundreds of thousands that Cyclone Sidr left homeless and hungry, a top U.S. military commander said.
Four heavy-duty water purification tankers, brought into Dhaka by the US state development agency, USAID, were hitched to trucks to begin the journey into the disaster zone.
It's part of a wide scale deployment in US relief efforts, including the arrival of USS Kearsage.
Denise Rollins, mission director for USAID in Bangladesh, said Kearsage would substantially increase US relief capabilities in the country.
Kearsage will be providing medical facilities they can deploy to different areas down in Bharisal, they can also, they also have lift capacity so they can, you know, they can actually carry the water treatment facilities, they can carry food, they can rescue people, they'll have boats, they can go out and rescue people, Rollins said.
Meanwhile foreign aid from the rest of the world continued to reach Bangladesh.
The World Food Programme loaded further supplies of food, water and clothing onto helicopters to be flown from Dhaka to the cyclone-devastated south.
The government has pledged to feed more than two (m) million people left destitute by the storm, which killed about 3,200 people.
