Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site
Parks Canada’s Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site commemorates the genius and compassion of renowned inventor Alexander Graham Bell. Exhibits show how he and his associates achieved Canada’s first powered flight with their airplane Silver Dart, produced the world’s fastest boat, advanced recording technology, designed giant kites and, of course, invented the telephone. Original artefacts, films, and family photographs highlight his scientific and humanitarian work. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on activities and a variety of programs. Situated on 10 hectares of land with a superb view of the Bras d’Or Lake in Baddeck on Cape Breton Island, the site overlooks Bell’s summer home, Beinn Bhreagh, still privately owned by his descendants.

(Alexander Graham Bell) Baddeck, Cape Breton
Visit our site:
On a quintessential warm sunny afternoon, we arrived at the picturesque and quaint village of Baddeck (pronounced /bəˈdɛk/), situated on the shores of the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes in the heart of Cape Breton lsland. As is common, a light summer breeze blew in off the water giving us a breath of fresh air.
Baddeck is known for its inviting gentle atmosphere, local shops, friendly people, golf, sailing, and stunning scenery. It is considered to be the beginning and end of the world famous CABOT TRAIL and is situated in the heart of Cape Breton Island.
It has been estimated that the village experiences almost as many tourists as the provincial capital, Halifax. On the water's edge, we listened to a couple of typical tourists convey their enjoyment of Baddeck.
While strolling along the boardwalk we stopped to admire the statue of Alexander Graham Bell and his wife Mabel. The famous couple spent their summers in Baddeck and professed their love for the Island.
I have travelled the globe. I have seen the Canadian and American Rockies, the Andes and the Alps and the highlands of Scotland, but for simple beauty, Cape Breton outrivals them all. Alexander Graham Bell. them all. Alexander Graham Bell.

Alexander Graham Bell Homestead - Brantford, Ontario, Canada
The Bell Homestead is located in Brantford, Ontario Canada. Watch the video and listen original voice of Thomas Watson who was Alexander Graham Bell's famous assistant. Thomas Watson was a gifted young electrician and model maker who helped Alexander Graham Bell to actualize his great ideas. The two of them were the perfect match and they labored on the project for almost a year until a happy accident occurred on June 2, 1875. While Watson worked to loosen a reed that was wound around an electromagnet, Bell heard a noticeable twang, and realized this effect could be recreated with the human voice. Visit for more info...
