Chocolate & Scottish Whisky Together?? | Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery Tour | Perth, Scotland [Ad]
Scottish whisky is world renowned but with chocolate? Today we head to Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery for a tour to see why Scotland is known for it's whisky and pair with chocolate! ⬇ More Below ⬇
Welcome back to Scotland! Today we wanted to learn more about why Scottish whisky is so well known, so we head to Dewars Aberfeldy for a distillery tour and tasting with chocolate pairings and what a day!
Whisky from Scotland is world renowned and we can understand why now. The distillery tour was eye opening to see how meticulous the process is and the love that goes into every bottle. We're honestly not big spirit drinkers but Dewars definitely positioned their distillery tour and whisky tasting to us in a way that was much more approachable - with chocolate! It's crazy how much the chocolate changes the profile of the whisky and now we're both a lot more open to whisky.
Having all the notes listed in front of us helped with the tasting as well, to an untrained drinker (us both haha) we really feel like our eyes are open to whisky now and will be looking for the Scottish magic around the world.

Scottish Adventure Begins ???? Loch Leven Castle | Perth and Kinross, Scotland [Ad]
Another Scottish road trip starts! We're in Perth and Kinross exploring Loch Leven Castle, chatting Mary Queen of Scots and eating at Loch Leven Larder. Scotland continues to... ⬇ More Below ⬇
Welcome back to Scotland — Perth and Kinross are home for the next few travel days and vlogs to come! Our first day exploring is the epic Loch Leven, taking the ferry aka wee boat over to the Loch Leven Castle. Scottish yarns really are the best and Loch Leven has plenty to share, mostly related to Mary Queen of Scots.
Loch Leven was home to Mary Queen of Scots on a few occasions, but also where she was imprisoned and famously escaped from in a brilliant way. It's simple for us to jump on the wee ferry boat over to Loch Leven Castle but in her day things were obviously a lot trickier!
Loch Leven Larder was our lunch spot, an enormous dome sitting right on the loch!
???? Our accom at the start was The Townhouse, you can see the reviews and pricing here: or check out their site here:

Rob Roy Way 2017 Section Hike - Day 3: Aberfeldy to PItlochry (female solo hike)
This is the third and final episode from my section hike of the Rob Roy Way, walking from Aberfeldy to Pitlochry (15km / 9.5miles).
That day I woke up after a very short night (the price to pay for having attended the Aberfeldy Festival the night before) and set off to reach Pitlochry by lunchtime to meet my friends and drive back to Edinburgh.
Such a beautiful day - first walking by the shores of the River Tay and then up on the moors overlooking the valley. I wish I'd felt a bit less tired but yet again, the views rewarded my efforts :) I recommend this section as a day hike if you're short of time.

Over the Cairngorm Mountains to Breamar Castle - The Scottish Adventure - Episode Twelve
In this episode we continue our adventure, travelling through clouds over the Cairngorm mountains to Breamar Castle.
Day Four of our adventure would see us attempting to travel 282 miles from the Deeside Holiday Park in Maryculter, across the Cairngorm Mountains to Braemar castle then southwards to the villages of Kenmore, Strathaven and finally to our camp near New Cumnock, but it did not go how we had planned...
Braemar Castle has been a a stronghold of the Earls of Mar since the Late Middle Ages. The present Braemar Castle was constructed in 1628 by John Erskine, 18th Earl of Mar as a hunting lodge and to counter the rising power of the Farquharsons. An important garrison after the 1745 Jacobite uprising, Braemar Castle had been attacked and burned by John Farquharson, the Black Colonel of Inverey in 1689. In 1715 the castle was forfeited to the Crown following the Earl of Mar's leadership of the rebellion. The castle and lands were purchased by John Farquharson, 9th Laird of Invercauld but the building was left in ruins until 1748 when it was to serve as a garrison for Hanoverian troops. In 1831 the military garrison was withdrawn and the castle returned to the Farquharson clan and used as a a family home.
The Retro Lab's Scottish Adventure is a two thousand mile road trip around Scotland in which we continued our mission to find Britain's (and maybe even the world's) best driving roads, also visiting many castles and other points-of-interest along the way, but it didn't go quite how we had planned....

Places to see in ( Crieff - UK )
Places to see in ( Crieff - UK )
Crieff is a market town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Crieff lies on the A85 road between Perth and Crianlarich and also lies on the A822 between Greenloaning and Aberfeldy. The A822 joins onto the A823 which leads to Dunfermline.
Crieff has developed into a hub for tourism, trading mainly on its whisky and cattle droving history. Tourist attractions include the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre and Glenturret Distillery. Innerpeffray Library (established c. 1680), Scotland's oldest lending library, is also nearby. St. Mary's Chapel, adjacent to the library, dates from 1508. Both the library and chapel are open to the public: the library is run by a charitable trust, the chapel is in the care of Historic Scotland.
For a number of centuries Highlanders came south to Crieff to sell their black cattle whose meat and hides were avidly sought by the growing urban populations in Lowland Scotland and the north of England. The town acted as a gathering point or tryst for the Michaelmas cattle sale held each year and the surrounding fields and hillsides were black with the tens of thousands of cattle - some from as far away as Caithness and the Outer Hebrides (for comparison, in 1790 the population of Crieff was about 1,200 which led to a ratio of ten cows per person, similar to the sheep/human ratio in New Zealand).
During the October Tryst (as the cattle gathering was known), Crieff was the prototype 'wild west' town. Milling with the cattle were horse thieves, bandits and drunken drovers. The inevitable killings were punished on the Kind Gallows, for which Crieff became known throughout Europe.
In the nineteenth century Crieff became a fashionable destination for tourists visiting the Highlands and as a country retreat for wealthy businessmen from Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond. Many such visitors attended the hydropathic establishment, Crieff Hypopathic Establishment there, now Crieff Hydro which opened in 1868, and remains in operation. Crieff still functions as a tourist centre, and the large villas stand as testaments to its use by wealthy city-dwellers. Crieff was once served by Crieff railway station. The station was opened in 1856 by the Crieff Junction Railway, but was closed in 1964 by British Railways as part of the Beeching Axe.
( Crieff - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Crieff . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Crieff - UK
