Kinzua Bridge State Park – Kinzua Sky Walk
The Kinzua Viaduct, when first constructed in May 1882, was the highest and longest viaduct in the world, measuring 301 feet high and 2,053 feet long. The need to transport coal, oil and lumber across the Kinzua Gorge inspired General Thomas Kane, president of the New York, Lake Erie and Western Coal Company and Octave Chanute, Chief Engineer for the Erie Railroad to design this colossal viaduct.
This fly over of the Kinzua Sky Walk offers a unique view of the bridge’s construction and the damage that resulted from a tornado in 2003.

SUMMARY
=======
The Allegheny National Forest is a National Forest in northwestern Pennsylvania. The forest covers 513,175 acres (801.8 sq mi; 2,076.7 km2) of land. Within the forest is Kinzua Dam, which impounds the Allegheny River to form Allegheny Reservoir. The administrative headquarters for the Allegheny National Forest is in Warren. The Allegheny National Forest has two ranger stations, one in Marienville, Forest County, and the other in Bradford, McKean County.
The Allegheny National Forest lies in the heart of Pennsylvania's oil and gas region. It is only 40 miles (64 km) from the site of the first commercial oil well in the United States at Titusville, Pennsylvania. In 1981, about 17 percent of the state's crude oil production came from mineral rights owned by private individuals within the Forest boundary.
Oil and natural gas are being extracted from parts of the forest.
Old-Growth Forests: Pennsylvania's Forgotten Giants
PLEASE DONATE TODAY!:
This 1999 30-minute video by the Pennsylvania Wild Resource Conservation Fund explores some of Pennsylvania's remaining old-growth forest stands, as well as emphasizes the acute importance of protecting today large tracts of public lands in Pennsylvania's second and third growth forests from all forms of development, so that they may with time eventually grow into impressive stands with emerging old-growth forest ecological characteristics.
A prime candidate for such permanent protection is the 9,700-acre proposed Tracy Ridge Wilderness Area in the Allegheny National Forest:
Allegheny National Forest old-growth forest tracts shown in this video include the 4,100-acre Tionesta Scenic and Research Natural Areas within the Friends of Allegheny Wilderness' proposed Tionesta Wilderness Area, and the Hearts Content National Scenic Area tract within the Friends of Allegheny Wilderness' proposed Hearts Content National Recreation Area.

High Top Trail, Bald Eagle State Forest, PA · Summer Baldy Drivable
High Top Trail is a drivable trial for licensed four wheel drive vehicles in Bald Eagle State Forest, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, United States. Elevation ranges from ~1600'elev. in Kettle Gap (west) to slightly over 2100'elev. (top) to ~900'elev. at Swift Run (east). Ascending the western slope of Hightop is not difficult; descending the eastern slope is intermediate level off roading (ascending the eastern slope would be advanced). Many of the obstacles on the eastern slope are significantly tighter than those on other drivable trails in the forest; and I believe that any vehicle wider than a mid-size pickup may not fit without altering the trail (or the vehicle) in an inappropriate way. There is some fencing (to control wildlife movement) along the trail near the western end; and there are some private parcels within the state forest along the eastern end of the trail and a cabin at Swift Run. I believe (discerned, not fully verified,) that the entire trail is a public right of way, and open to suitable licensed vehicles. The vehicle driven was a 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road, KDSS, 3lift OME-BP51, adjUCA, 275/70R17 A/T3s, Warn-M8000 winch, many skid plates and rock sliders.

Hiking the North Country Trail - Allegheny National Forest
In this video hiking journal, my friend and I hike a section of the North Country National Scenic Trail in the Alleghany National Forest near Warren, Pennsylvania. We started at Henry Mills and ended at Dunham Siding. The total trail mileage was between 15 and 16 miles, but with some of our various wanderings, our trip totaled 23 miles over the course of 2.5 days. We are not experienced backpackers, so this was a new thing for the both of us; but we loved every minute of it. This trail section meanders through and around various abandoned oil drilling outfits, streams, huge rock structures, caves, creeks, valleys, and all kinds of various tree and animal species. Although we didn't come in direct contact with them, we did see signs of bear activity and heard some in the night as we slept in a lean-to along the trail. This is amazingly beautiful country and I very much look forward to coming back and exploring more of it in the future. One of the local guys we ran into even said that it wasn't necessary to purify the water and that he's been drinking strait out of the stream for the past 30 years, although, we treated our water just to be on the safe side. If you would like to see the maps we used in planning this trip, as well as a higher resolution topo map of the section we hiked, head on over to davidspasage.com

All things to all people, it served merchants, passengers, slaves in pursuit of freedom, and soldiers from the Mexican War.

Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States, North America
Pittsburgh is a city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the United States, and is the county seat of Allegheny County. As of 2017, a total population of 305,704 lives within the city limits, making it the 63rd-largest city in the U.S. The metropolitan population of 2,353,045 is the largest in both the Ohio Valley and Appalachia, the second-largest in Pennsylvania, and the 26th-largest in the U.S. Located at the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers, Pittsburgh is known both as the Steel City for its more than 300 steel-related businesses and as the City of Bridges for its 446 bridges. The city features 30 skyscrapers, two inclined railways, a pre-revolutionary fortification and the Point State Park at the confluence of the rivers. The city developed as a vital link of the Atlantic coast and Midwest, as the mineral-rich Allegheny Mountains made the area coveted by the French and British empires, Virginians, Whiskey Rebels, and Civil War raiders. Aside from steel, Pittsburgh has led in manufacturing of aluminum, glass, shipbuilding, petroleum, foods, sports, transportation, computing, autos, and electronics. For part of the 20th century, Pittsburgh was behind only New York and Chicago in corporate headquarters employment; it had the most U.S. stockholders per capita. America's 1980s deindustrialization laid off area blue-collar workers and thousands of downtown white-collar workers when the longtime Pittsburgh-based world headquarters moved out. This heritage left the area with renowned museums, medical centers, parks, research centers, libraries, a diverse cultural district and the most bars per capita in the U.S. Today, Google, Apple Inc., Bosch, Facebook, Uber, Nokia, Autodesk, and IBM are among 1,600 technology firms generating $20.7 billion in annual Pittsburgh payrolls. The area has served as the long-time federal agency headquarters for cyber defense, software engineering, robotics, energy research and the nuclear navy. The area is home to 68 colleges and universities, including research and development leaders Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. The nation's eighth-largest bank, eight Fortune 500 companies, and six of the top 300 U.S. law firms make their global headquarters in the Pittsburgh area, while RAND, BNY Mellon, Nova, FedEx, Bayer and NIOSH have regional bases that helped Pittsburgh become the sixth-best area for U.S. job growth.
In 2015, Pittsburgh was listed among the eleven most livable cities in the world; The Economist's Global Liveability Ranking placed Pittsburgh as the first- or second-most livable city in the United States in 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014. The region is a hub for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, sustainable energy, and energy extraction.
