ALOHA TOWER
Located on the Honolulu Harbor in Downtown Honolulu, about 15 minutes west of Waikiki, Aloha Tower is an iconic symbol of Hawai‘i. Aloha Tower is the most recognized building in the state of Hawai‘i, second only to Diamond Head as its most famous landmark.
Built in September of 1926, Aloha Tower was the tallest building in the islands for four decades, offering spectacular views of the harbor and housing an observatory and lookout station for harbor pilots. Its lighthouse served as a navigation landmark that could be seen from 15 miles at sea, while its clock was one of the largest in the United States. The tower stood as a welcoming beacon for visitors when travel to O‘ahu was done entirely by sea, serving as Honolulu’s “Statue of Liberty.” Duke Kahanamoku even set his first swimming world record at Pier 7, and the wharf was also known for Boat Days, a lively celebration to welcome the arrival of visiting ships.
For a period of time during World War II, the U.S. military took control of the tower, painting it in brown and green camouflage and shutting off its beacon to minimize detection. Patrols by Army sentries didn’t end until the camouflage was sandblasted off in 1947; the Aloha Tower reopened in 1948 in its original glory as one solid color.

HONOLULU, EXPLORING the historic ALOHA TOWER (HAWAII), scenic views ✈️⛴️
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit the historic Aloha Tower which is a lighthouse that is considered one of the landmarks of the state of Hawaii in the United States. Opened on September 11, 1926 at a then astronomical cost of $160,000, the Aloha Tower is located at Pier 9 of Honolulu Harbor. It has been, and continues to be, a guiding beacon welcoming vessels to the City and County of Honolulu. Just as the Statue of Liberty greeted hundreds of thousands of immigrants each year to New York City, the Aloha Tower greeted hundreds of thousands of immigrants to Honolulu. At 10 stories and 184 feet (56 m) of height topped with 40 feet (12 m) of flag mast, for four decades the Aloha Tower was the tallest structure in Hawaii. It was built in the Hawaiian Gothic architectural style.Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com.

Honolulu (/ˌhɒnəˈluːluː/;[6] Hawaiian: [honoˈlulu]) is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi. It is an unincorporated part of and the county seat of the City and County of Honolulu along the southeast coast of the island of Oʻahu.[a] The city is the main gateway to Hawaiʻi and a major portal into the United States. The city is also a major hub for international business, military defense, as well as famously being host to a diverse variety of east-west and Pacific culture, cuisine, and traditions.

Honolulu is the most remote city of its size in the world[8] and is the westernmost major U.S. city. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau recognizes the approximate area commonly referred to as City of Honolulu (not to be confused with the City and County) as a census county division (CCD).[9] Honolulu is a major financial center of the islands and of the Pacific Ocean. The population of the Honolulu census designated place (CDP) was 359,870 as of the 2017 population estimate,[4] while the Honolulu CCD was 390,738[10] and the population of the consolidated city and county was 953,207.
Honolulu means sheltered harbor[11] or calm port.[12] The old name is Kou, a district roughly encompassing the area from Nuʻuanu Avenue to Alakea Street and from Hotel Street to Queen Street which is the heart of the present downtown district.[13] The city has been the capital of the Hawaiian Islands since 1845 and gained historical recognition following the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan near the city on December 7, 1941.

On August 21, as Lane approached the Hawaiian Islands, a hurricane watch was issued for Maui County and Hawaii County.[20] Early on the next day, the hurricane watch for Hawaii County was upgraded to a hurricane warning.[21]
University of Hawaii at Manoa students who were staying on the campus were advised to stay informed and download alert apps, and to store basic emergency supplies such as flashlights, first aid kits, food and water. The University initiated emergency protocols on August 22, and a University spokesperson stated that there was two weeks worth of food and water stored in case of a severe emergency.[22]
Maui County and Big Island school districts closed August 22 for an undetermined period of time, and all non-essential state employees on the Big Island and Maui were told to stay home between August 22–24. Hawaiian Airlines waived the change fees for tickets to, from, within, and through Hawaii from August 21–26.[23]
On August 22 at 21:00 UTC, Fort Shafter announced that all Navy vessels and Air Force planes were being moved out of state due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Lane.[24]

Epic Aloha-Honolulu, Hi 2018
December 2018
12 rooms of arts and them installations, photo-ready rooms for you to tour and make memories. Every room was so unique and showed the beautiful colors of Aloha. ALL the staff there were so friendly and AWESOME!!! They gave us great suggestions for photos.
We loved the fact that you get a room to yourself(or your group) to explore and take pictures/videos. In this case, we were able to just dance around and be silly until the previous group was done with the room ahead of us.
My all time favorite room was the Rainbow Room. (raindrops, swing sets, neon colored themed) My husband's favorite was the Beach themed.
Epic Aloha is located right in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki where we stayed so it was very convenient for us. We bought tickets online in advance which took like less than 5 minutes. You're greeted through the mini shop where you will sign a waiver and then they lead the way to where your adventure starts.
Each room filled your body with excitement and thrill because they're all SOOOOO beautiful.
