Biasanya setiap Sabtu, kecuali musim dingin (salju), salah satu tempat di pusat Kota Amherst diselenggarakan semacam bazar atau orang INDONESIA sering menyebutnya pasar kaget
.
Pasar kaget ini diikuti oleh para petani yang menjual hasil dan produk olahan pertaniannya, dan berlangsung dari pagi hingga siang hari
.
Harga dari produk pertanian di sini terutama yang berupa produk olahan agak lebih mahal jika dibandingkan dengan peoduk pabrikan. Meskipun demikian, orang-orang di sini cukup antusias datang ke Amherst Farmers Market ini. Mereka ingin berbagi atau mendistribusikan pendapatannya ke para petani lokal tersebut. Mereka bangga menjadi LOCAL HERO
