Annapurna Hiking Trail Nepal Video: Trekking in the Annapurna Mountain Foothills high altitude trek
Annapurna Hiking Trail Nepal Video: Trekking in the Annapurna Mountains high altitude trek vlog
This vlog is a continuation of my Annapurna trekking video series which is documenting my trek to ABC base camp (Annapurna Base Camp). climbing in the foothills of the Annapurna mountains gaining altitude every day. The Annapurna walking trail after breakfast is not too steep but does involve crossing a very long suspension bridge over a river. Beautiful but not good for someone like me who doesn't like heights.

Nepal - Annapurna trek options
Annapurna Trek Options
In this video we'll outline the main trekking options in the Annapurna region.
First, you'll need to know where Annapurna is located.
The Annapurna peaks -- and there are at least 5 peaks carrying the name Annapurna -- are located in the Annapurna Sanctuary Area just north of Pokhara.
There are a host of 7 and 8 thousand meter peaks in the sanctuary. Various trekking options can get you close to some or all of them.
Just about all Annapurna treks start from Pokhara, located west of Kathmandu and reached by 35 minute flight or one day road trip from Kathmandu.
There are three main treks conducted in and around the Annapurna region.
• Short treks into the high foothills that provide spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains.
• Treks into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary to the Annapurna Base Camp area.
• Much longer treks that complete a circuit loop right around the Annapurna mountain massif.
We'll start with a look at the short treks designed to provide fantastic views of the mountains with just a few days trekking.
The peaks of the Annapurna massif are only about 40 km north of Pokhara.
So a short drive and just a day or two walking will get you into the high foothills where the mountain scenery is spectacular.
The most common mountain scenery short-trek is to the village or Ghorepani and the Poon Hill lookout just above the village. It is a fantastic experience.
Most people aim to experience sunrise over the Annapurna mountains from the 3,200m vantage point of Poon Hill.
Reaching Ghorepani is usually a 2 day walk from the entrance to the Sanctuary Area.
Many people then return to Pokhara via an easy loop through other villages and the main valley into the sanctuary. Others just make this the first leg of a longer trek to Annapurna base Camp.
But there are also other panoramic short trek and accommodation options throughout the foothills -- so contact us at Langtang Ri Trekking if you would like to know more.
The most common trekking destination in the sanctuary is to the Annapurna Base Camp -- the starting point for many climbing expeditions.
Depending upon the route this can be about a 7 to 10 or 14 days trek.
There are villages and accommodation options all along the trekking routes. The scenery is spectacular. The altitude not too high, less than 4,000m throughout. And the walking trails are well made and relatively easy walking.
The third trekking option is to circumnavigate the entire Annapurna massif -- this is the Annapurna Circuit Trek.
There are a variety of different shorter and longer versions of this trek -- some which involve terminating the trek north of Annapurna, at Jomson, and returning to Pokhara by air. Others branch off into remote valleys and high passes and others continue on foot all the way to the Sanctuary Area gate north of Pokhara. So some treks can be a short as 12 days and other 21 days or longer.
While the main appeal of this trek is its spectacular scenery and the experience of visiting remote villages and their people, another attraction is its suitability for trekking right through the mi-summer monsoon period. Because the treks goes north of the mountain peaks the treks is in the mountain rain-shadow and so can be comfortable completed any time other than the depths of mid-winter.
So these are just the three main trekking routes in the Annapurna Sanctuary Area. Plus there are lot more valleys, villages, lakes, high passes and festivals that can be included in a customised trek itinerary.
If you need help to plan your trek please contact Pamfa -- she has the answers to all your questions. We hope to see you soon at Langtang Ri Trekking and Expedition.

Trekking to Poon Hill Viewpoint for Sunrise view of Annapurna One & Annapurna Fang Nepal Hike Video
From Poon Hill also known as poonhill the sunrise view of he Annapurna Mountains including Annapurna I (Annapurna one), Annapurna Fang and many more from the Himalayan mountain range is simply stunning. This Annapurna youtube video is part of my Annapurna trekking video series from Nepal. This video starts with an early morning as we rise before sunrise to trek to the top of Poonhill for the Sunrise view which is a highlight of any trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal.
The hike up to Ghorepani which is the overnight stop closest to the Poon Hill viewpoint is made up of 4000 steps is not a difficult or technical hike but does require a certain level of fitness. From here I will be heading on to re-join part of the Annapurna Circuit and on towards Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).
Trekking in Nepal starting from Pokhara is very rewarding, I hope that you enjoy this Annapurna vlog on Youtube and don't forget to watch my other videos of Nepal and also for India.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is unique as it covers an unusually wide range of climatic zones in such a short time. It is one of the best trekking route in whole world.
Annapurna Panorama Trek!
A short, fun video of the Annapurna Panorama trek. This trek lasts roughly 6 days and is both enjoyable AND doable for all ages!
Annapurna Base Camp Trek - Visit Nepal 2020 by Discovery World trekking
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is by far one of the most beautiful treks. It’s a trek to the brilliant huge amphitheatre nestling among the extremely elegant peaks of the Annapurna mountain range. The Annapurna base camp journey is the most famous and varied trek in the Nepal Himalayas. The journey starts from Pokhara in the foothills of the Annapurna Sanctuary and proceeds through the charming villages of Magar and Gurung (sorry – I don’t understand the phrase “public as Gurkha soft solder recuperate”. The lush Rhododendron woodland, happy villages and theatrical mountains can be seen and trekked within just 8 days or less and constitute one of the most popular treks.
Trek to Annapurna circuit begins at Bhulbhule(845m) after the scenic drive from Kathmandu, following the trail towards Jagat(1,300m). We further move along to Dharapani(1,860m) to Chame(2,610m). We follow the trail to Pisang(3,115m) following the Marsyangdi River valley. We trek to Manang(3,540m) where we stay for acclimatisation to prepare for crossing the Thorung La Pass(5,416m). A primary rule of hiking to higher elevation is to hike high and sleep low. From Manang, we continue the trail and head to Yak Kharka(4,050m). The next day we hike up to Thorong Phedi(4,525m). From Thorong Phedi we make an ascent to Thorong La Pass (5,416m). After passing the Thorong La pass we head down to Muktinath(3,760m), which is a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists.
We hike back from Muktinath to Kagbeni(2,804m). We head towards Ghasa(2,113m) from Marpha(2,665m). Since we return from a different route, the trek is even more exciting. We relax in the hot spring in Tatopani(1,200m) and relax our muscles from all the effort we made throughout the trail. We hike to Poon Hill(3,210m) from Ghorepani(2,860m) for a final glimpse of the mountains. The trail is culturally rich, and every day will prove to be a new experience for us. From Nayapul(1,050m) we drive back to Pokhara, where we will halt for the night. Pokhara is a city of wonders and a great place to conclude the amazing trek and relax. There are lots of massage places which we can visit after weeks of the walk. We drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu and bid farewell to the country with a moment that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

Annapurna Region
Most treks in the in this area start from Pokhara 92 miles west of Kathmandu. The Pokhara valley lies in the Shadow of the spectacular Annapurna Range. From the valley numerous trekking routs ascend to the Annapurna Sanctuary, a huge basin in the senator of the Annapurna Range or up the Kali Gandaki Valley to Muktinath or Mustang. The Annapurna circuit trek takes a long and strenuous route around the north side of the Annapurna Range via the Thorong La addition to longer treks, there are also excellent short all seasons treks in the Pokhara area.
Annapurna Panorama Trek (Poonhill Trek)
This 5 day trek Ghorepani-Poonhill trekking loop also known as the Annapurna Panorama Trek is one of the most pleasant and sought after short treks of Nepal and affords beautiful views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Macchapucchre ranges. Poon Hill, which is the highest point on the trek at 3210m is one of the finest vantage points in the Nepal from where you can witness many peaks higher than 6000m and the 8000ers - Dhaulagiri(8167m) and Annapurna 1(8091m). A great introduction to Himalayan hiking and Nepalese Himalaya, this trek passes through farmlands and picturesque villages nestled into the foothills of Annapurna conservation Area. The entire trip from Kathmandu and back should take about 9 days.

Annapurna Circuit, Nepal - The World's Greatest Trek
Nepal Final Reflections:
The world's highest mountain range defines everything in Nepal, from its geography and its weather to its religion and trade. The kingdom of Nepal has traditionally been shut off to foreigners and only opened its doors to visitors in the 1950's. (Yep, that means Indiana Jones couldn't have gotten into a bar fight with Nazis in Nepal.) The Annapurna region allowed foreigners to first trek in 1977. The idea of trekking took off, and Nepal instantly became a hot spot.
Of all the treks in Nepal, the Annapurna Circuit is the most complete. For scenery and cultural diversity, you can't beat Annapurna, and many select it as the best long-distance trek in the world.
It starts in a tropical climate zone as you pass through a variety of zones all the way to the arctic zone. With each change in elevation, you also find new cultures. From Hindu villages in the foothills to Tibetan culture of Manang Valley.
The circuit navigates around the Annapurna Massif, which has 30 mountains over 20,000 feet. Nowhere else on Earth will you find a region like this with the grandest mountain scenery you'll ever see. In a hundred ages of the gods, says an ancient Indian text, I could not tell thee of the glories of the Annapurnas.
The Himalayas 5416m/17769 ft best long distance trek in the world/Nepal Gopro 7 2.7k
The Himalayas 5416m/17769 ft best long distance trek in the world/Nepal Gopro 7 2.7k
Annapurna Circuit has often been voted as the best long distance trek in the world, as it combined, in its old full form, a wide variety of climate zones from tropics at 600 m asl to the arctic at 5416 m asl at the Thorong La pass and cultural variety from Hindu villages at the low foothills to the Tibetan culture of Manang Valley and lower Mustang. Continuing construction of a road has shortened the trail and changed the villages. The Beisahar-Manag road has been built which passes through the trekking trail most of the time. That is why NATT (New Annapurna Trekking Trail) trail has becoming popular to see this beautiful valley and Himalayas around Marshyandri River bank. NATT is new trekking trail to Annapurna circuit to avoid road. With construction of the road, mountain biking is becoming popular, with Mustang in particular becoming one of the world's most popular mountain biking destinations.
The mountain scenery, seen at close quarters includes the Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda. Numerous other peaks of 6000-8000m in elevation rise from the Annapurna range.
The trek begins at Besisahar or Bhulbhule in the Marshyangdi river valley and concludes in the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Besisahar can be reached after a seven-hour drive from Kathmandu. The trail passes along paddy fields and into subtropical forests, several waterfalls and gigantic cliffs, and various villages. The Annapurna Circuit is a trek within the mountain ranges of central Nepal. The total length of the route varies between 160–230 km (100-145 mi), depending on where motor transportation is used and where the trek is ended. This trek crosses two different river valleys and encircles the Annapurna Massif. The path reaches its highest point at Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 ft), touching the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Practically all trekkers hike the route anticlockwise, as this way the daily altitude gain is slower, and crossing the high Thorong La pass is easier and safer.

Sherpa culture Trek lower Solu region
Trekking in the Solukumbu Region, is in one of the loveliest areas to see spectacular mountain views and monasteries. It is in the Southern part of the Everest region and has very rich authentic Nepalese and Sherpa cultures. Secluded monasteries and villages inhabited by the ever friendly Sherpas, give it a warm and welcoming feeling.
We recommend Pike Peak Trekking especially for those who want to veer off the typical tourist packages and try something new. There are so many advantages.
You will meet very few trekkers during this trip
You will experience the real local culture, uninfluenced by tourism
Magnificent view of Mt. Everest, 8848m, highest Kanchanjanga, 8586m, the 3rd highest, 8586m and Mt. Makalu, 8475m peak in the world.
Upon request the local people will show their local Sherpa Culture Dance
You will taste seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the trek
Poor people are happy to sell their fresh fruit and vegetables, which helps them financially
A camping trek requires a large staff. Choosing a camping trek provides jobs, like guide, cook, cook's helper and porters. This income will be saved for their further study and to support their families.

Himalaya Trek in the Annapurna Mountains Nepal Video: Trekking to ABC Annapurna Base Camp Vlog
Annapurna Mountains Nepal Video Trekking to ABC: Crossing Rivers and View of Annapurna Fang
This is my last trekking day in the Himalaya Mountains of Nepal before the final accent to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). I am trekking with Himalayan Sewa Expedition & Trekking, contact details below.
The going is getting a bit tough in places with rocks under foot and slippy bridges over river crossings, there is one especially tricky and slippy bridge over a fast flowing river near the end of the day after a recent landslide. We make it safely to the village of Himalaya for lunch and then have to speed up the pace in order to beat the weather, the clouds start closing in and it looks like snow could be on its way. There are clouds above us and clouds below us but we manage to stay ahead of the bad weather and make it to Deurali where we will be sleeping for the night relatively dry. Once in Deurali I take you on a quick tour of the room I will be staying in which is a dorm style room with 9 beds. All accommodation once you reach this later stage of the Annapurna Base Camp hike will be in shared accommodation such as this.

MOUNTAIN MAGIC// Annapurna Base Camp Part 2
** This is PART 2 of the Annapurna base camp videos**
The trek to Annapurna base camp in Nepal changed my perspective of life. Seeing the people live happily with very few material comforts and expectations in life but much abundance in their connection with nature and the ones they love really inspires me to do the same.
The trek took 7 days to get to the base camp at 4,100m and back. We took the route as follows; Nayapul - Ghandruk - Sinuwa - Deurali - Annapurna base camp - Bamboo - Jhinu - Nayapul.
Nepal for the soul. ????
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
I believe we are made of the same energy and so I seek to make connections with nature, people, animals, and the universe. I don't conform and I call it like it is. Though we are connected, we are all unique- that's the greatest magic in this world. In our uniqueness, I hope we all find who we truly are at our core, and live by it every day.
Love,
Tan

Mount Everest is located in the Sagarmatha National Park just north of Lukla -- the starting point for almost every trek in this region.
Lukla is located east of Kathmandu and reached by 35 minute flight. Flying is really the only way to get there.
There are three main treks conducted in and around the Mount Everest region.
• Short treks into the high foothills that provide spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains and views of the summit peak of Mount Everest itself.
• Direct treks to the Mount Everest Base Camp at the foot of the mountain.
• Much longer treks that complete a circuit loop to Mount Everest Base Camp via the spectacular Gokyo Lakes and Cho La high pass.
While some trekking is still required, unless you choose the helicopter option, it is possible to glimpse the summit of Mount Everest from the comfort of luxury hotel accommodation.
A day or two walk from Lukla will get you to one of the hotels vantage points to glimpse Mount Everest.
Even from this distance the mountain views are spectacular. So this trek option might be of interest to those with limited time or concerns about fitness and the dangers of altitude sickness.
The direct trek from Lukla to Mount Everest base Camp and return is by far the most popular trek itinerary in Nepal.
These treks all start from Lukla and take about 12 to 14 days to return to Lukla.
Some solid days of walking are required, however, there will normally be at least two rest days on the outbound journey at help your body adjust the to the high altitude and reduce the risk of altitude sickness.
So the trek starts at 2,800m altitude, over 9,000 feet at Lukla and reaches 5,300m or 17,400 feet at the Everest Base Camp. This is very high and good fitness and careful altitude acclimatization is required for a safe and comfortable trek. Accommodation options are many and varied along this route. There are also many options for side-treks and experiencing local festivals and religious centre along this route -- just contact us here at Langtang Ri for more information on these many options.
The third and most spectacular and physically challenging trekking option is the extended trek to Mount Everest Base Camp via the Gokyo Lakes and the Cho la Pass.
This is a long trek into the heart of the Sagarmatha National park and its most spectacular scenery.
The trek starts and ends in Lukla and traverses the very high Cho la Pass as it heads over to the Khumbu Glacier Valley. This is a very challenging pass at an altitude of nearly 5,400m, or 17,700 feet and should only be attempted with the assistance of an experienced guide. However, the experience and stunning scenery reward the effort this trek requires.
Probably best to plan your Everest treks for Spring or Autumn. This avoids the mid-summer monsoon season when rain and low cloud can make flying and trekking in the Everest region difficult. While it will be cold in February and November, these are still good times to trek the mountains if you have the right clothing, equipment, accommodation planned and a good guide with you.
So these are just the three main trekking routes in the Everest Base Camp Area. Plus there are lot more valleys, lakes, high peaks, high passes, monasteries and festivals that can be included in a customised trek itinerary.
