Your COMPLETE GUIDE to Tokyo street photography
Tokyo is the PERFECT city for street and night photography! There's so many little nooks and hidden spots to take incredibly intricate shots but it's hard to know where they are...
Thank you so much to Eyexplore for having us. Brandon and I learned SO much on this photo adventure! From panning shots to zoom blurs to how to set the aperture like a pro, I actually can't wait to go out and shoot again.

Where to visit in each prefecture of the Kanto region, great for day trips!Travel cheaply in Japan by visiting these amazing(mostly free) places and use the benefit of your JR pass!
Except for Tokyo many of the other Kanto regions don’t get as much attention as it should! Tokyo is great and all but if you really want to see Japan then just travel a few hours away from Tokyo and you can experience something totally different!
Don’t be a tourist, be a traveller :)

JAPAN-VLOG Day 2 [My favourite temple in the world + Sendai City!]
Day 2: Yama-dera (my favourite temple in the world) + exploring Sendai city!
After editing the first two vlogs whilst on my recent trip to Japan, I made the decision to continue filming the whole trip, however leave the video editing for when I got home to my quad monitors and LED filled editing machine....
Looking back on the entire trip... the city of Yama-dera, and specifically the temple that we walked 1000+ steps up to was one of the most incredible experiences out of all the incredible places we visited over the next 3 weeks.
I highly recommend this location to anyone interested in visiting Japan... Now when do I get to go back!!

Exploring Tokyo, Japan [Ginza, Tokyo, Akihabara, Asakusa] |Day 101 - Tokyo
Ginza (銀座) is Tokyo's most famous upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment district, featuring numerous department stores, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, night clubs and cafes. From 1612 to 1800, today's Ginza district was the site of a silver coin mint (Ginza means silver mint in Japanese), after which the district was eventually named. The Ginza evolved as an upmarket shopping district following the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake.
Located between the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station, Marunouchi (丸の内) is one of Japan's most prestigious business districts. During the Edo Period, Marunouchi (literally within the enclosure) was located within the outer moats of Edo Castle and contained the residences of some of Japan's most powerful feudal lords. Together with neighboring Otemachi, Marunouchi is now home to the headquarters of many of Japan's most powerful companies, particularly from the financial sector. Over the last decade, Marunouchi has been receiving a major facelift, led by the Mitsubishi Estate company, which owns a lot of the land in the district. Many older office buildings were replaced by new skyscrapers with offices on their upper floors and a variety of shops and restaurants on their lower floors. These newly opened shopping and dining complexes have revitalized the formerly unexciting business district and are drawing an increasing number of non business visitors in recent years.
Akihabara (秋葉原), also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops. In more recent years, Akihabara has gained recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan) culture, and many shops and establishments devoted to anime and manga are now dispersed among the electronic stores in the district.
Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo's shitamachi (literally low city), one of Tokyo's districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.

Ozu Ohanahan Street Jinrikisha Ride - Ehime - おはなはん通り - 4K Ultra HD
Described by many as the little Kyoto of Ehime, Ozu does not only offer one of Japan's most stunning gardens, the Garyu Sanso but also the chance to enjoy the city in a whole new angle by roaming its historic streets also known as Ohanahan Dori (streets).
While walking around these streets is highly recommended when visiting Ozu, it is possible to visit Ozu’s old town while being comfortably seated in an elegant Jinrikisha (a traditional Japanese rickshaw). Available most of the time all year long, rickshaw rides can be booked, when available, on spot directly from Ozu’s tourist information center.

Elinor Carucci, Paul Graham, & Gus Powell on Making Photographs
On October 15, 2019, Aperture Foundation presented an artist talk with three photographers from the Aperture title PhotoWork. In the talk, moderated by Sasha Wolf, discussed their approach to making photographs and, more importantly, a sustained body of work.
After a decade of running Sasha Wolf Gallery, Sasha Wolf now represents emerging and midcareer fine-art photographers in a private practice. Prior to her work in the photography world, Wolf was a writer, director, and producer in the film and television industries. An award-winning filmmaker, her film Joe (1997) was nominated for the Short Film Palme d’Or at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
Elinor Carucci graduated from Jerusalem’s Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design with a degree in photography in 1995 and moved to New York the same year. Since then, she has been awarded an International Center of Photography Infinity Award, Guggenheim Fellowship, and New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship. Carucci has published four monographs to date: Closer (2002), Diary of a Dancer (2005), Mother (2013), and Midlife (2019). She teaches in the graduate photography program at the School of Visual Arts.
British photographer Paul Graham lives and works in New York. Over the past three decades, he has produced thirteen distinct bodies of work and published dedicated monographs for nearly every series, including the twelve-volume a shimmer of possibility (2007), which received the 2011 Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Award for the best photobook published in the previous fifteen years. Graham is the recipient of numerous honors and grants, including the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize and the Hasselblad Award. He has a degree and an honorary doctorate, but is self-taught in photography.
Gus Powell attended Oberlin College, where he studied comparative religion. His books include The Company of Strangers (2003), The Lonely Ones (2015), and FAMILY CAR TROUBLE (2019). He is a member of the street photographers’ collective In-Public and is on the faculty of the MFA photography, video, and related media department at the School of Visual Arts.
