Top Five Adrenaline Activities in Cabo San Lucas
Top 5 Adrenaline-Racing Activities in Cabo
Los Cabos is one of the most remarkable regions on the planet for adrenaline-racing activities and breathtaking adventures.
There are two reasons for this phenomenon. One is simple geography. Los Cabos boasts a unique blend of spectacular terrains – from stark deserts and steep mountains to gorgeous golden sand beaches and pristine undersea environments in both the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortés– all of which lend themselves to a seemingly unending variety of hair-raising endeavors.
The other is attitude, the sort of hell-for-leather approach that develops in places where there are plenty of natural provocations and challenges, but not so many pesky rules and regulations.
Zip Lining
The spine of Baja California Sur between Los Cabos and La Paz is the interior mountain range of the Sierra de la Laguna. It may not be Nepal, but this rocky range reaches as high as 7,000 feet, and intrepid sorts are welcome to scale its highest peak: El Picacho de la Laguna. Or attempt to, anyway. We should mention that in addition to small, cuddly and adorable deer, the mountains of Baja Sur are also home to a bewildering array of scorpions, spiders and exotic rattlesnakes.
It’s safer, easier and a lot more fun to go zipping pell-mell amid the surrounding foothills. Cabo Adventures’ zip line course in the beautiful Boca de Sierra Biosphere Reserve includes the longest single line in México, a nearly mile-long plunge (around 4,000 feet, anyway) in which participants reach speeds of up to 60 miles an hour. To reach this point, one must first manage an obstacle course that includes cliffside rappelling and a swinging wooden bridge suspended high above the earth.
Off-road Racing
The most famous sporting event in Baja is also the most famous off-road racing event in the world: the legendarily rugged Baja 1000. So devilish and dangerous was this annual off-road trek through the untamed heart of the peninsula that by the late 1960s and early 1970s it became a badge of honor, one that attracted Hollywood stars of the era like Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and James Garner. Even traditional motorsports stars like Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones and 7-time NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson felt the need to try it, as if driving fast over paved roads wasn’t enough of a challenge.
Swimming with Sharks
No, this isn’t a cage dive in a carefully controlled environment, but an uncaged, unscripted experience in the deep blue waters of the world’s largest and most abundantly populated ocean. This adventure of a lifetime is offered courtesy of Cabo Shark Dive, the first dive company in Los Cabo to take thrill seekers offshore for Pacific Ocean encounters with makos, hammerheads, blues, sickle silks and other menacing looking shark species.
Organized by Jacopo Brunetti, AKA Jacob Scuba – the founder of Cabo Shark Dive and a respected marine biologist, underwater photographer and certified shark expert – all tours include tested and reliable safety measures, plus the required medical and communications equipment…just in case, you understand. In addition to the adrenaline rush of free diving with prehistoric eating machines, divers invariably encounter other large pelagic species as well, from marlin and manta rays to dolphins and sea lions.
Hang Gliding
The best views in Los Cabos aren’t found in the penthouses or rooftop lounges of local luxury resorts, but rather in the passenger seat of pilot Ernesto Magaña’s motorized hang glider.
Ten to twelve minute Land’s End tours are entry level. For the full adventure, opt for the hour-long Kings Sky Tour, and experience the majesty of the southern Baja coastline from Cabo San Lucas to San José del Cabo and back again.
Flyboarding
Flyboarding is one of the world’s newest sports, emerging as recently as 2011 when it was created by a French jet ski champion named Franky Zapata as a kind of futuristic “jet-powered hoverboard.” The jet ski, or wave runner if you prefer, does play a major role: when the jet ski rider revs the throttle, a surge of water gushes through an attached hose, propelling the flyboarder out of the water, and allowing him or her to elevate and steer into turns or flips up to 35 feet above the surface.

Playa del Amor (Lovers Beach) & Arch Cabo Water Taxi Tour
A water taxi ride from Médano Beach or the marina is your best bet to get to Lover's Beach. Fares average about $10 US per person round-trip for a tour in the glass-bottomed boat. They’ll first tour Land’s End so you can see the fish underneath, and then they’ll take you near El Arco, Cabo’s famous arch (not to mention a good opportunity for nice photos) before dropping you off at the beach.

CABO SAN LUCAS - Mexico (4K)
Cabo San Lucas or simply Cabo is a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, is known for beaches, water-based activities and nightlife. Playa El Medano, Land's End, Playa del Amor(Lover's Beach) and El Arco are the main attractions. Cabo San Lucas together with San Jose del Cabo is known as Los Cabos #cabosanlucas #cabo #loscabos Music:
Top Five Beaches in Cabo San Lucas
The Top Five Beaches in Cabo San Lucas:
The beauty of Baja California Sur’s nearly 1400 miles of contiguous coastline – the most by far of any Mexican state – is expressed in beaches of nearly every size and complexion; all warmed by tropical year-round sunshine, and exquisitely polished by untold eons of gently lapping Sea of Cortés waters or crashing Pacific Ocean waves.
In Los Cabos, home to many of the state’s most famous playas, these sandy coastal stretches have, through time and varied usage by generations of locals and tourists, acquired their own unique personalities.
Playa del Amor
Lover’s Beach is the secluded movie star of Los Cabos beaches, the Greta Garbo like figure who enchants with her beauty but hides much of herself from public view. Set on the half-mile Land’s End headland that marks the terminus of the nearly 800-mile long Baja California peninsula, Playa del Amor is only accessible via water-based transportation, and only during daylight hours.
Playa El Médano
Médano Beach is the Spring Break mecca in Cabo San Lucas, and Mango Deck its de facto headquarters, home to bawdy fun like banana eating and sex position contests. March marks the high water mark of the yearly collegiate madness, but Médano is busy on a year-round basis, and its charms are hardly limited to those seeking sun-soaked debauchery. Families will find plenty to do here, from building sand castles to renting kayaks, wave runners or stand up paddle boards. Romance too is in the Médano air, with barefoot fine dining at moonlit tables in the sand. The Office on The Beach throws the best weekly party, a Thursday evening Fiesta Mexicana featuring fireworks, mariachis, folkloric dancing, and piñatas and candy for the kids.
Playa Costa Azul
Zippers serves as the setting for the region’s only professional surf tournament, the World Surf League sponsored Los Cabos Open of Surf, a Qualifying Series 6000 event for women and juniors of both sexes held each June at the San José del Cabo based beach. Those of a less active temperament will find Costa Azul’s long smooth shore and picturesque scenery perfect for romantic barefoot walks along the waterline; and the beach’s highly regarded cantina, also called Zipper’s, serves the best BBQ ribs in the state.
Playa Chileno
In recent years new hotel and residential developments have appeared near Playas Chileno and Santa María, but despite the loss of a certain amount of privacy, both retain their immaculate beauty and pristine grandeur.
Playa Palmilla
Into the early 1960s – years after the son of a former Mexican president had built Los Cabos’ first modern resort there – Punta Palmilla was still being used as a staging ground for cattle shipment, with animals loaded aboard offshore transports the old-fashioned way: by being tied to the sides of pangas (small skiffs) and rowed out beyond the breakwater, where nooses were looped around their horns and they were hoisted from the briny blue.
The beach which this lodging overlooks remains open to the public, as all Mexican beaches must by law, and thus proffers her unblemished charms to both fishermen and financiers, housekeepers and Hollywood royalty. Her protected cove is so naturally suited to water-based pursuits that the swim leg of the annual Ironman Los Cabos triathlon is contested there.
| CaboViVO is your video guide to the breathtaking natural beauty, vibrant culture and boisterous nightlife that make Los Cabos one of the most spectacular and exciting places on earth.
CABO SAN LUCAS WATER TAXI TOUR - THE ARCH - LOVERS BEACH - DIVORCE BEACH - MARINA - LANDS END
This excursion included a tour of the Arch of Cabo, Lovers Beach, Divorce Beach, Sea Lions, Caves, Pelican Beach, and the Marina. The glass bottom water taxi tour started at the Marina and dropped us off at Lovers Beach for a couple of hours. From Lovers Beach you can walk to Divorce Beach. Be very careful of the powerful waves on Divorce Beach. This is a great inexpensive way to get up close to the famous Arch of Cabo. The tour cost $15.
This was a fun tour of the Cabo San Lucas coastline with some beautiful scenery including the famous El Arco (The Arch). We also saw the cave that the tour guide called the Window to the Pacific Ocean.

Most Enjoyable Things To Do In Cabo San Lucas
Gone are the days when Cabo San Lucas, the fishing village located right at the tip of Baja California, was not so popular. Today, the village has transformed into one of the most exciting holiday destinations because there are so many places to see and so many activities in Cabo San Lucas to try out. Cabo San Lucas is the perfect weekend getaway for all kinds of travelers, be it adrenaline junkies, adventurists, foodies, hardcore celebrity fans and so on. Both celebrities as well as the common folk visit this village often in order to enjoy a stress-free and rejuvenating vacation! It has something to offer to people of all ages, therefore if you are looking forward to having an incredibly fun and memorable vacation then you should visit this lovely village.
The primary USP of Cabo San Lucas would be its geographical features. This tiny village has a very unique combination of beaches, mountains and even desert! Thus, with such a varied landscape, one can easily guess that there will be plenty to do here and that one can have a good time! The following are some of the most popular activities in Cabo San Lucas that you can engage in when you are visiting the village:
Visiting El Arco to admire Nature
Located at Land's End, i.e. the southernmost tip of the peninsula, El Arco is a natural feature which is part of the Three Friars. If you love nature watch then this one should be on your list of “activities in Cabo San Lucas” to try out. You should visit El Arco on a glass-bottomed panga for the most enjoyable experience. When out in the waters, with the grand Pacific Ocean on one side and the Sea of Cortez on the other, you will be able to spot pelicans and sea lions amongst other flora and fauna.
Surfing at Zippers
If you like water sports then you would love surfing at Zippers, which is located at Mile 17 in Cabo Corridor. This is an extremely good spot for surfing but it is essential to have good surfing skills because this is not the spot for beginners to try out surfing. Zippers attract people from all walks of life to come and surf here. If you are not into surfing or just a beginner then you can enjoy your time by spectating others surfing on the majestic waves here!
Romance with your partner at Lover's Beach
Fancy spending a romantic day with your lover when in Cabo San Lucas? In that case you should take a panga and head to Lover's Beach. This strip of virgin sand beach is aptly named because the view here is extremely romantic. The rocks here resemble gray bread dough as they are very smooth, due to constant washing by waves over the years. Don't forget to pack in some food with you so that you can enjoy the day here. Just bring your partner to this lovely beach and you can leave the rest of the world behind! People also love to sunbathe here.
Exploring a Coral Reef
If you love exploring coral reefs and taking a look at sea life then you should head to Cabo Pulma, which is the National Marine Park here. This Mexican marine park is quite far off from Cabo and it takes up to a day to reach it but it is completely worthwhile! The park is known for its spectacular coral reefs, some of the most impressive ones in this part of the world. You can also try out snorkeling at Los Arbolitos or taking a hike to view quirky rock formations at Las Sirenitas.
Thus, with such a wide range of varied “activities in Cabo San Lucas” to try out, you can rest assured that there wouldn't be a single boring moment around when you are in this village!

Walking to the Beaches in Cabo San Lucas - What To Do on Your Day in Port
This is a quick video on how to walk to two of Cabo San Lucas's favorite beaches. Playa Publica (Public Beach) is within a half a mile of the tender dock. The directions are at the end of the video. Playa Medano is about a 1 1/2 mile walk around the harbor. Both beaches are nice. Playa Medano is a 2 mile long stretch of beach lined by hotels and bars. Playa Publica is about 600 feet long (at high tide). There are no hotels or bars there, but does have outhouses.
Both beaches are very clean and not very crowded. The water at Playa Public seems clearer, but I think that is because Playa Medrano has bigger waves stirring up the sand.
There are water taxis to Playa Medano if you don't want to walk but, you need to be able to get in and out of a small boat. I think they cost about $5 - $10 p/p. They will try to fairly hard to sell you a tour to El Arco and Lover's Beach for an additional cost.
We hope you enjoy the videos and your next cruise.
