10th June 2019 – Aros Park, Mull
We left the castle headed for the dread Island of Mull. We stopped at Acharacle to empty the toilet and then Strontium for a little shopping. Then lunch at the loch side and onwards to the Ferry, just a short and smooth crossing from Lochaline to Fishnish. We headed towards our stop over for the night with a little trepidation after all the bad reports of Mull. Aros Park is a lovely spot and Spidey was straight out to explore. Lindsay and I headed out on one of the marked trails around the lochan. On the trail we found one of the Tobermory Rocks. We photographed and moved it to a new spot. We returned to the van and had something to eat before heading down to the pier to look around. Then back to chill and relax before bed.
11th June 2019 – Garmony
We left Aros Park decided for Tobermory. We were on the hunt for water; apparently there is none to be had either at the harbour or the petrol station. They had taps but did not want us filling our tanks. Go to a site they said. We left for Calgary bay to see what the fuss was about, just a beach. No water there either, even on the camp area or public toilets. Then we moved on to Eas Fors where we had some lunch before exploring the waterfalls. This is a great spot but too early to stop for the night. We continued on to circumnavigate the island. There are some great spots to park up but many have caravans in them obviously set up for a long stay. We found a few spots before settling at Garmony for the nigh. We got water from the Pennygowan Site for £3, it was £5to use the showers. Garmony is right on the water with loads to see. This made up for a somewhat disappointing day on Mull. We saw Canada Geese, Graylags, seals and much more during the evening.
12th June 2019 – Garmony
We had a lazy morning at Garmony. Lindsay explored and I bird watched. We then headed to Alainn View to see the falls there before heading to Craignure. Just before Salen, we were clipped by a tour minibus. No damaged done but we were a bit shaken. Bus did not stop so we called 101 and passed on the details and we have it on dash cam. We headed to Craignure where we had a bar meal and caught up with Neil. It was great to catch up with my brother. Then we have to decide where to spend the night. Many options but we head back to Garmony. Then off to bed.
Currently we are Weekend Warriors. We plan to go full time in the future, however for now we continue our exploration.

The south east coast is an essential transport hub for Mull, but there are also ancient monuments, coastal walks and stunning secret bays to discover. Salen is the central point in Mull for travelling to all other areas, while Craignure is the busy ferry port for Oban. Iconic Duart Castle, dramatically perched above Duart Bay, is one of several historic attractions.
