Its beauty is fabulous and its history - unusual. Lake Tsivlos is located on Helmos (Aroania) Mountain, in the Achaia region, at an altitude of 800 metres and was created in 1913, when a large landslide clogged the riverbed of Kratis and swept away the settlement of Tsivlos. Skeletons of pine and sycamore trees coming out of its waters are further evidence that there was a deep ravine with dense vegetation.
This ... accident makes an increasing number of people come to the area and admire its beauty, relax and enjoy the gifts of nature. Today, Tsivlos is a very important water reserve, home to many species of flora and fauna and a popular destination for recreation.
Tsivlos is located 12 km southwest of Akrata, 12 km northeast of Kalavryta & 171 west of Athens.

Arcadian Village, Kynouria region - Peloponnese | Exotic Greece, land of myths
Arcadian Village: Passing Agios Andreas village, on the way to Leonidio, you will find Arkadiko Village, an integrated model settlement at Little Pepontina.
The road just before Arcadia village to Tyro and Leonidio is impressive. On your right rises the mountain of Parnonas while on yourleft stretches the Kynouriaki coast with sandy beaches, small coves and beautiful peninsulas. Arcadia Village was created as part of a major program of holiday villages set up in order to reconnect expatriates with their places of origin.
Arcadian Village is a settlement in the province of Northern Kynouria of Arcadia. It is built on a peninsula in Mikri Peponta, after the village of Agios Andreas on the way to Leonidio. To its west is the mountain range of Parnon. It is 55 km east of Tripoli, 45 km south of Nafplio, 12 km south of Astros and 33 km north of Leonidio.
It is a model and self-contained settlement that was captured as an idea in the early 1980s by American Arcadians and began to be realized at the end. It was part of a national pilot project aimed at reconnecting Greeks abroad with their place of origin through the creation of holiday homes. In the final phase of the program, 300-350 houses, a hotel, a conference center, sports facilities and other facilities were planned to be constructed, but the Greek debt crisis has put its end in doubt. Arcadia is known for its handmade hilopites (a type of noodle) and trahana (rustic pasta), sold in shops along with other traditional products, like the region’s honey, chestnuts and delicious, seedless Tsakonian eggplants.
