Asean Sculpture Garden Kualampur Malaysia
ASEAN Sculpture Garden is a garden in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, situated adjacent to the National Monument and in the vicinity of the Lake Gardens. It is a landscaped garden with a collection of prize-winning sculptures in wood, marble, iron and bamboo. Exhibits have been crafted by artists from the ASEAN region.

Situated in one of the busiest shopping areas in Singapore is a cool and shady nature walk around a hill which has a history that dates back some 700 years. Here one can relax by taking a stroll through the park on the hill or even immerse oneself in this green oasis' tranquility. Back in 19th century, Fort Canning Hill was once known as the Forbidden Hill because Malays then believed that it was the royalty seat for rulers of Temasek (malay name for Sea Town - an olden name for modern Singapore) in AD 1300. Later Singapore's colonial leaders made their residences here and the hill became a military base during the Second World War. The ancient relics dating back to the 14th century have been unearthed and the Fort Gate which was remnant of the fortress built in the 1860s is now a reminder of Singapore's colonial past.
This part 1 of the video start with Park Mall Dragon Fountain. Park Mall Dragon Fountain has mythical majestic dragons used to be splitting out water day and night.. The video continues to show the attractions in the Fort Canning Park - the ASEAN Sculpture Garden. These sculptures were created in 1981 for the ASEAN Sculptures Symposium in Singapore. As a symbol of ASEAN unity and cooperation, each member country - the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore - donated a sculpture to this garden in 1982. Brunei added its contribution in 1988 when it became an ASEAN member.
About Fort Canning Park:
Fort Canning has been a landmark in Singapore since ancient times, and the palace of Malay rulers during the 14th century likely stood on its summit.
Sir Stamford Raffles, the modern founder of Singapore, also built his bungalow on this “Forbidden Hill” just slightly more than 60m high.
A fort was built there in 1861, the work of 400 Chinese coolies, and it was renamed Fort Canning Hill after Viscount Charles John Canning, Governor-General and first Viceroy of India.
Fort Canning Arts Centre was a British army barracks built in 1926. The centre is now a heritage building with dining and retail outlets.
The lawn in front of the building was for many years part of a cemetery - Singapore's first Christian cemetery.
The remaining graves were cleared starting from the 1950s to the 1970s, and some of the tombstones were placed in the surrounding walls where you can still see them.
Another historical juncture on the hill - Lieutenant Arthur Percival and British officers made the decision to surrender to the Japanese on Feb 15, 1942, in the underground bunker here known as the Battle Box.
As Singapore developed, Fort Canning became a place for leisure activities, arts and culture, playing host to events such as Shakespeare In The Park and Ballet Under The Stars.
It could be the future site of a founders' memorial to honour Singapore's founding political leaders, including Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Malaysian National Monument Tugu Negara in Kuala Lumpur
It was built to honor the War dead of World War I and II and the Malaysian Emergency of 1948 to 60 (the communist insurgency) and it is also known by it's Bahasa Malaysian Name of Tugu Negara. The National Monument is located in the Lake Gardens area of Kuala Lumpur and nearby areas are the Asean Garden, Parliament Building and the National Mosque and other areas of attractions. At the mass scupture's base there is a listing of the names of the units who fought the insurgency, including British, Australian, Fijian, Maori and Malay troops.

The KLCC Park is an urban park in Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The park has been designed to provide greenery to Petronas Twin Towers and the areas surrounding it. KLCC Park is a 50-acre garden set close to Suria KLCC shopping centre. Designed by Roberto Burle Marx, it was designed to provide a touch of greenery for the Petronas Twin Towers and the areas surrounding it. On the park grounds is a 10,000sqm manmade lake (Lake Symphony) with a 43m bridge that cuts across. Unquestionably, Lake Symphony is the reason most people frequent the park; it has water fountains that can shoot water up to a height of 42m. These daily water shows occur at noon and in the evenings and are popular with kids. KLCC Park has over 1,900 indigenous trees from 74 species; 40 of these trees were transplanted from the former Selangor Turf Club racecourse, which lies to the southeast of the city. Besides the various waterfalls, fountains, cascade and reflecting pools scattered around the park, there are a variety of facilities at KLCC Park including a two-acre children’s playground, a 1.3km-long jogging track, shelters and benches, patterned footpaths and sculptures. On KLCC Park’s western stretch is a public children’s swimming pool.

Kuala Lumpur is short on must-see attractions: beyond the Petronas Twin Towers, the real joy lies in wandering randomly, seeing, shopping and eating your way through it.
KL hosts an amazing variety of architectural delights. The grandest old British colonial buildings lie in the city centre and include the former offices of the Colonial Secretariat (now the Sultan Abdul Samad Building) on Merdeka Square and the old Kuala Lumpur Railway station. They blend themes from the architecture of Britain and North Africa. On Merdeka Square's west side, looking like a rejected transplant straight from Stratford-upon-Avon is the Royal Selangor Club. Near Merdeka Square is Masjid Jamek, a charming Moorish-style mosque set at a confluence on the Klang River. The National Mosque, Masjid Negara, (1965) celebrates the bold ambitions of the newly independent Malaysia. The National Monument in the pretty Lake Gardens is inspired by the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. The ASEAN sculpture garden is nearby. Also in the lake gardens is Carcosa Seri Negara, the former residence of the British High Commissioner, which now houses an upmarket hotel and colonial-style tea rooms. While some buildings in the high-rise Golden Triangle, such as the KL Tower, are uninspired copies of other famous structures, the Petronas Twin Towers are truly marvelous.
Within the city centre is also the fascinating narrow streets of Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur's traditional commercial district, with its many Chinese shops and places to eat.
KL is hot, humid and sometimes crowded, so schedule some cooling off in air-conditioned shopping malls or restaurants. You may find that most attractions are only crowded on weekends and holidays and are otherwise deserted on weekdays.

KL is mainly known for its eating and shopping, which are adequately covered by the Eat and Buy sections.
Other activities include usual urban sports such as golfing, cycling, running, jogging and horse riding. If you’re into rock climbing, the Batu Caves in the Northern suburbs is popular. However given Malaysia's stunning terrain, you’re better off heading to other places for anything more strenuous or challenging.
Several good theatres and performance halls have emerged as part of Malaysia's drive to encourage greater cultural expression. These include the National Theatre (Istana Budaya) and the KL Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) in the northern part of the city, the KL Philharmonic in the Twin Towers, and the Actors Studio at Lot 10.
Leading museums in the city centre are the National Museum, which covers the region's history, and the well-regarded Islamic Arts Museum, which houses a small but captivating collection. Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery is a modern museum linked to the country's national bank with well-designed galleries on Malaysian economic development, Islamic finance, the history of the central bank, and the national's banks own art collection.
Pampering and spas can be found in several five-star hotels and independent centres in the Golden Triangle. There's also nail parlours and beauty salons, which are generally good value, there's also high-end ones offering similar services for a premium. Reflexology and foot massage places are everywhere, especially in Bukit Bintang in the Golden Triangle and in Chinatown.
Kuala Lumpur also has several theme parks around the city and in the surrounding cities. The most famous of these parks is Sunway Lagoon in the neighbouring city of Subang Jaya. The theme park has rides, a huge waterpark, an extreme park for adventure junkies, a scream park for those wanting a good scare, and a petting zoo for children. Sunway Lagoon is a 40 minute drive from central Kuala Lumpur in good traffic.
