Athens Airport Metro to Syntagma Square
I thought I'd do a video of the Metro train from Athens airport to Syntagma Square. It's about 45 minutes in to Athens. They fooled me this time by installing new ticket machines. The old ticket machines just printed a time on your little ticket, but the new ones are electronic and a scanner opens the gate for you to proceed. The train is empty when you get on but fills up quickly as the stops approach Syntagma (Constitution) Square. There is also a bus (X95) which goes to the same place from the airport. Both are 10 euros. I hope this helps save someone some money because the taxis are about 40 euros I think.

Athens Metro Line 1: A Look At The Subways In Greece. The Athens Metro reminds me of the New York City Subway system back in the 1980s when it was covered in graffiti. They got rid of graffiti on the NYC subways back in 1989. Thirty years later, the Athens Metro Line 1 is covered by graffiti by copycats who want to emulate NYC. I'm not sure how much longer the Athens Metro Line 1 will still have graffiti on it so if you want an idea of what it was like on the NYC subways in the 1980s, have a look at these trains.
