Located within the historic Atlas Life Building, The New Atlas Grill is a downtown Tulsa restaurant which offers diners a comfortable menu and casual atmosphere. Open for lunch Monday through Friday and Breakfast on Friday’s, The New Atlas Grill has daily specials as well as the usual menu that serves many classic dishes.
The Atlas Life Building has been in Tulsa for 85 years and is between two other famous landmarks, the Philtower to the south and the Mid-Continent Building on the north. Situated in the opulent art deco lobby, across from the Tulsa Press Club, patrons can’t help to notice and wonder about the history that exists in this building that was erected in 1922. Originally a coffee shop, the two dining rooms still show the original character despite many face lifts.

While walking through the territory of a factory, located in the industrial area of the city, I noticed a weird concrete block with a metal gate on the side of it. I opened it and a ladder climb later I was in a dark, small tunnel leading to an underground bomb shelter/safe house.

Arkansas ( AR-kən-saw) is a state in the southern region of the United States, home to over 3 million people as of 2017. Its name is of Siouan derivation from the language of the Osage denoting their related kin, the Quapaw Indians. The state's diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozark and the Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the densely forested land in the south known as the Arkansas Timberlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River and the Arkansas Delta.
Arkansas is the 29th largest by area and the 33rd most populous of the 50 United States. The capital and most populous city is Little Rock, located in the central portion of the state, a hub for transportation, business, culture, and government. The northwestern corner of the state, such as the Fayetteville–Springdale–Rogers Metropolitan Area and Fort Smith metropolitan area, is a population, education, and economic center. The largest city in the state's eastern part is Jonesboro. The largest city in the state's southeastern part is Pine Bluff.
The Territory of Arkansas was admitted to the Union as the 25th state on June 15, 1836. In 1861, Arkansas withdrew from the United States and joined the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. On returning to the Union in 1868, the state continued to suffer due to its earlier reliance on slavery and the plantation economy, causing the state to fall behind economically and socially. White rural interests continued to dominate the state's politics until the civil rights movement. Kansas (listen) is a U.S. state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka and its largest city is Wichita. Kansas is named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area. The tribe's name (natively kką:ze) is often said to mean people of the (south) wind although this was probably not the term's original meaning. For thousands of years, what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Tribes in the western part of the state were semi-nomadic and hunted large herds of bison.
Kansas was first settled by European Americans in 1812, in what is now Bonner Springs, but the pace of settlement accelerated in the 1850s, in the midst of political wars over the slavery debate. When it was officially opened to settlement by the U.S. government in 1854 with the Kansas–Nebraska Act, abolitionist Free-Staters from New England and pro-slavery settlers from neighboring Missouri rushed to the territory to determine whether Kansas would become a free state or a slave state. Thus, the area was a hotbed of violence and chaos in its early days as these forces collided, and was known as Bleeding Kansas. The abolitionists prevailed, and on January 29, 1861, Kansas entered the Union as a free state. After the Civil War, the population of Kansas grew rapidly when waves of immigrants turned the prairie into farmland.
By 2015, Kansas was one of the most productive agricultural states, producing high yields of wheat, corn, sorghum, and soybeans. Kansas, which has an area of 82,278 square miles (213,100 square kilometers) is the 15th-largest state by area and is the 34th most-populous of the 50 states with a population of 2,911,641. Residents of Kansas are called Kansans. Mount Sunflower is Kansas's highest point at 4,041 feet (1,232 meters).

Elite counterterrorism teams compete in Amman

Elite counterterrorism teams from around the world have gathered in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The teams are showcasing skills at the eleventh annual International Warrior Competition.
STORYLINE:
These soldiers are competing in Amman's King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre.
A total of 37 teams representing 24 countries from around the world are participating in a series of military exercises.
The activities of the competition include the testing of multiple skills for the special forces, counterterrorism teams and internal security teams.
Skills being tested include shooting skills, patience and endurance skills, climbing buildings, dealing with a difficult and complex environment, says the official competition spokesperson, Ahmed al-Shomali.
The Warrior Competition is an international event held annually to promote cooperation and measure participants' abilities and endurance under psychological and physical pressure.
It tests their ability to work together in planning and executing the hardest, yet most realistic tasks and scenarios these units may face on duty.
This is the first year Officer Josh McMath and his team from the Tulsa Police Department Special Operations in Oklahoma, USA, will take part.
McMath is not setting his sights on winning the competition this year, but hopes to gain some insight into how military teams from other countries perform.
We're here to see where our shortfalls are, to learn a little bit from these military units and units from around the world, and see how we can, when we go back home how we can maybe change up some of our training and how we do things, he says.
This year is the first time after three years that Iraq is participating.
Since 2016, the Iraqi team was instead putting their skills into real-life use, fighting the Islamic State on the ground.
We hope to perform in this competition the same way we performed during the fighting (against Islamic State), the head of the Iraqi team, Brigadier General Amer Mohammad says.
Other countries taking part include Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Iraq, Kenya, and India.
The Annual Warrior competition event takes place from 14 to 20 April 2019.
